They used to be the leader, but others came out with new designs, etc. and Levis decided to follow others lead. They were no longer in the driver seat and paid for it. What they needed to do is keep production here, lower the pay a little, lower their price and really advertise that they are American jeans. They also needed to make amends with some of the consumers about things like the Boy Scouts and HCI.

I agree, your take on this is rational, and reasonable. Unfortunately, at the top of most corporations today are lazy, corrupt, self centered types. (See: Enron, Global Crossing, Xerox, Tyco... etc). Anyway, the easy, quick solution is to offshore everything but your own jobs. What happens to our manufacturing capability? They don't care. What happens to the domestic job market? They don't care. What happens when people here can't afford their cheaper product? They hope they'll be gone by then. No vision of the future, they want theirs now, and as for anyone else, they don't care!

They erred greatly when they began attacking the sons of some of their largest customers and supporters - The Boy Scouts of America.

They paid are will continue to pay, and rightfully so - all the way into a dot in the history books.

Levi Straus is a perfect example of the negative impact of social homosexual engineering attempts by that perverted and desperate lot seeking to push their way of life on normal society.
