I made a little shelf on the opposite wall and put it there. I moved my pc into my living room and hooked that up, too. Gaming is great on a big screen with 5.1 sound ;)

I got replayTV, its pretty cool, but doesn't record dolby digital :(

You know, seriously, sometimes I feel like I'm a great predictor of the next great trend in electronics...I remeber years ago, bought a great Fisher rack system, with one of those straight line tracking turntables, on which to enjoy my extensive LP collection...bingo..out comes the cassett deck you can record..so, I get one.start to record all my albums...and busy buying lots of new cassettes as well...then, the CD debuts.....well, at elast I missed the 8-track..so now, as I'm about to take the plunge into the flat screen TV...after finally buying a DVD player....well,

Consumer electronics of this nature is a brutal business...I would keep an eye on my Intel stock price.

Intel used to make memory chips, but when production became a commonplace commodity, they shifted to processors, where their innovation capabilities gave them a great advanatage. Now that those are becoming commonplace, they are going to where the next opportunity to innovate is.

I was going to buy a DLP projection system in 12 months, but I will keep a close eye on this.

these are for the projection tvs not the flat screen sets. So they are for the overhead projectors or the big floor models. I have been working with the design team and the resolution is incredible.

The greatest disappointment I have is that the minidisc didn't catch on. I got a portable player/recorder in 98 and its a nice piece of hardware. Works great and even looks modern, today. I haven't used it in 2 years, though :)

You gotta try Call of Duty. That game is amazing. The multiplayer component is absolutely the best!

The format is fine. In fact there is no way for the format to become obsolete in the near future. What is missing is content. There are no high definition dvds yets, and only a couple of channels of hi def satellite tv.

The format of hi def displays is flexible, like your computer monitor. Hi def content can be scaled to display on anything from your 20 year old tv, to the latest computer monitors.

Sony still sells MD recorder/players, but they also handle the MP3 format. The result is an MP3 player which has exchangable media and can also handle CD-audio tracks. My kid has one, it's the best music player she could get and for no more than an MP3 player with static memory.

It's pretty obvious that compouters will be supplying the horsepower for future TVs. Computers with the specs recommended for these clips are sold mostly for gaming now, but they will be on the junk heap in five years.

Yea, I've seen those, but at this point handling discs is a pain in the ass. I got a 60 gig mp3 player. No more media!
