Powerful Letter To President Bush
From American Border Alliance ^ | 1-10-4 | From Bill Berlat

January 8, 2003

President George W. Bush president@whitehouse.gov The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500

Re: Illegal aliens plus

Dear President Bush:

To say that for the most part I am disappointed in you, would be to put it mildly. But why should you care? After all, your political advisors are telling you to pander to whatever you wish because those who support you have no one else to turn to.

That may be the case, but I can assure you that there will be no further campaign contributions from this household, and although I could never vote for one of the nine Democrat dwarfs, I may not vote at all. To vote for a man who has neither the courage nor the integrity to fight for what is right for America and Americans rather than lawbreakers, would be to discredit my franchise.

You, and your administration, just don't get it. I was a strong and vocal supporter, but I am disappointed with your domestic policies. I supported you on Iraq and on the tax cuts. But signing the campaign finance reform bill was wrong; signing the Ted Kennedy education fiasco was wrong; and the Medicare reform that a large percentage of seniors alive today will never see does too little too late. Your constant pandering to that lout who is President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, is wrong. Your proposal for amnesty, no matter what you call it, without first solving the problem with illegal immigration is wrong, and worse than that, dangerous for the way of life we have known and loved. Did our forefathers give their lives and efforts to forge this country so that we could hear, "Press one for English" on the telephone? So that a person who could not even understand the English language could vote?

You are the first President to not only be on watch, but to assist, when one of the most basic and treasured rights in the Bill of Rights has been abridged. Pornography - OK, but don't speak out during an election. Why, because that pseudo Republican McCain, the darling of the east coast left, from Arizona wanted it?

Homeland Security is a joke. Make Grandma from Minnesota strip down and be searched, and check Momma's shoes, but leave our borders open. If you or Tom Ridge think our comfort level is raised when Grandma takes off her shoes at the airport, all the while thousands of illegals are pouring across our borders, you are mistaken. Without protecting our borders there can be no secure homeland. And now, a proposal to give rewards to those who have broken our laws and come into our country illegally goes beyond the bounds of reason. Let's let all the burglars out of prison. After all, there are so many of them it's getting hard to feed them. Let us create a peon class and destroy middle America with low paying jobs that are competed for by those with no heritage or ties to this republic.

You are going to open the door to a mass exodus from Mexico at a massive additional cost to the taxpayers of this country. And while Jose gets every benefit known to mankind, our veterans, our seniors, and the poor in our country, citizens all, go begging for assistance. America is now a place where a citizen cannot deal with his funds in excess of $10,000.00 without telling the feds about it, but millions of illegals working here can send billions of American dollars to a country that has disowned them? And all the while getting free medical care, free education, and the like? Vicente the Fox must be laughing all the way to the bank.

You fight for the right(?) of every illegal illiterate downtrodden refugee from anywhere to come in and take advantage of our tax dollars and generosity. But where is your fight for your sorely needed judicial nominees and tort reform. And how could you countenance the paying out of billions to the families who survived 9/11 (an act we were not responsible for), while the survivors of men and women who have given their lives for their country in Iraq receive a paltry $15,000.00? Where is the fight against the secularization of our America? You, sir, a President who has a majority in the House and in the Senate, have squandered it.

You have been debased by the political arena. Instead of standing on principle and fighting for what is right, fighting to preserve what made our country great and strong, you are more concerned with pandering for votes to be re-elected. And why should we continue your legacy? Is the enemy within the greater evil than the enemy without who seeks the throne?

You have lost me. I cannot use my franchise to vote for a man who, in my opinion, although strong in a few areas, has let this country down in so many others. You have a sworn duty to enforce the laws of this country - including immigration laws - and you turn your back on doing so.

You sir, a supposed Texan, have failed to Remember the Alamo. You would also do well to remember the words of Gen. George Patton,"Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men." You would appear to have lost the courage to fight for what is right for America.

Respectfully,

Bill Berlat

Have you noticed the irony: A Texan (again) getting whipped by Mexico. "Remember the Alamo" has become a joke. I suppose you could call this "The Alamo-Part II", except there is no resistence from the American side.

Mexico now has effective control of the USA's politics. How else do you explain the President ignoring the will of 75-85% of the American people.

I don't want to learn how to speak Spanish. Dang.

I agree w/you. Bush can't explain away an attack if they come in, with the drugs, from the south. People will not understand.

Dane believes that ad hominem attacks represent thoughtful, cogent replies when in reality they're nothing but pathetic, even amusingly vain, vacuous attempts revealing a decidely questionable level of intellectual discourse and ability.

75 to 85%? Do you think it's that low? The only people in support of this situation are those who have a vested interest somehow, which aren't that many. ( I guess Dane has a cheap housecleaner or something.)

Thanks for posting this.

Mr Berlat is dead on.

So where do we go?

Constitution Party? - Perhaps, but they need to get a grasp of the 10th Amendment.

Libertarian Party? - Perhaps, but they need to embrace the spirit of the Bill of Rights and apply it to our America today, not make drug laws the #1 objective.

Write in? - This is what I'm planning on doing, right now I lean toward the Paul / Tancredo ticket.

Yes, something needs to happen to shock the RNC back to reality. Those suggestions are all viable, but a nationally consolidated decision would be the most powerful. Some have suggested a write in for the primary. If that doesn't work, we could always shoot for a political disaster in November. Not something I even want to think about.

The republicans are going to find out, one way or another, that conservatives are not to be taken for granted.

Write in for the Primary is a done deal. However, the entire exercise of a presidential primary for the incumbent party is a joke.

I'm planning to write in for the general election too. If we stay home, our vote will be ignored, if we can band together and agree on a strategy that will express our outrage as a group, we could have some impact.

Agreed. I'm not staying home in November. I'm way too mad for that.

Perhaps you could do that on the thread in question?

I agree. But where do we go?

On election day I will go to a restaurant perhaps?

Or maybe be on vacation. We love to go away in the fall.

Where we will not be is at the polls.

For the first time in almost six decades.

Nah, Bill Press is Pat Buchanan's good friend. They have a lot in common, they both hate Bush.

The guys whole letter is a rant, just like Howard Dean's stump speeches. JMO, Mr. Berlat has whole lot more in common with the Howard Dean AMEN. He doesn't like the new Medicare giveaway'cause it's "too little too late"!!!!!! If a democrat gets elected you will get everything you don't like about Bush, PLUS higher taxes AND a softened military. To all posters: that is a choice. How stupid are you?

Most do. Check the FR poll question

You mean the poll question with 1800 votes out of a possible pool of 130,000 Freepers. Appx. a 2% turnout.
