New York's police commissioner, Ray Kelly, said a passenger passed a note to a crew member during the flight claiming that he had a bomb. The passenger later said he had a grenade, Kelly said.

Sounds like the bomber/hijacker was a product of public schools and didn't know how far away Australia was. On my second visit to the US in the early 1980s I went from coast to coast by Amtrak. I got talking to a guy who had just finished high school. He asked me, "Hey, are you from New Zealand? I recognise the accent." I replied that I was from the UK and lived in London. His response: "Yeah but that's near New Zealand, isn't it?"

Luggage being checked with dogs, per Fox. I hate when that happens. You can never get the urine odor out of the bags after that.

Ack
Paige Hopkins announced Rita and Geraldo coming up with the latest. Get ready for the already hyper reporting to ratchet up several notches.

Drinking alcohol and flying in an airplane at high altitudes do not seem to mix. I have posted the question before as to whether or not the altitude has anything to do with alcohol consumption, where seemingly "normal" persons turn into raving lunatics while flying The effect of alcohol at cabin pressure altitude of 8000ft is effectively doubled.

Regardless, I recall Usama's words from one of his threatening speeches: "In the belly of an eagle" Jeepers!! That's got to be American or American Eagle. Only airline with an eagle logo. Pray no checked bad stuff was meant by this.

She must have meant coming up at the top of the next hour because they are mercifully nowhere in sight. Oh, she said "they'll be here with the latest" coming up, so who knows how soon.
Forewarned is forearmed.

At last check, no liquor is catered on ANY American Eagle flight any longer. Been that way for at least a year.

Probably just had Courtney Love on the flight. She doesn't even need alcohol to make her disruptive. I'm suprised they haven't banned her from flying yet.

Fox now reporting cops said "was just unruly passenger making unreasonable demands", not terrorism.
This after the report of a grenade.
Of course, given the powerful interests that do not want air travel disrupted, I don't believe anything they say anymore about air incidents.
To: Patriot1998
FOX News, yet again, reported a story BEFORE all the facts were in.
The FBI said ther was no terrorist threat on this flight.
Just one of the 5 media giants trying to get raings.

LOL!
Man, if you think you've seen Rita breathless before, today she's in overdrive.
But what took the cake just now was Geraldo holding aloft a grenade! (He just picked it up at some surplus store. It's harmless).
I can't stand the hyperventilating much longer, but it is entertaining in its own way.

Ratings is all that matters!
I just saw the "demo" by Geraldo.
Then he quoted that Lt Col Hunt, who yesterday told O'Reilly that Iraq was just like Viet Nam.

Have flown on those small commuter planes recently but didn't notice if the cockpit door was reinforced.
I wish the media would not report these crazy incidents. It gives other crazies very bad ideas.
