The White House has had nothing do with this this story so far and I think if you expect some W news conference gloat-fest I think you'll be sorely disappointed.

Weapons of Mass Destruction are Weapons of Mass Destruction no matter how old they are!

36 ancient leaky 120mm shells with blister gas can't mass-destroy anything.

This stuff was buried, in a haphazard way...after the Iran-Iraq war. Apparently, no one even kept a map of buried site...the military leaders in the area at the time just knew the stuff was dangerous and didn't want to drag it around Iraq. I would not get too excited about this episode. Doesn't really say anyting.

"36 ancient leaky 120mm shells with blister gas can't mass-destroy anything."

I consider ANY chemical weapon, a WMD. It can destroy people's lungs, eyes, or lives in the right amount.

That is close enough to a WMD for me.

their discovery wont stop the liberal tongues from wagging

No matter WHAT is found it won't stop their forked tongues from spewing lies & filth.

If George Bush walked on water, the rats would complain that he got the carpet wet. The truth has absolutely no bearing when it comes to the left.

I know that my president is classier than that. Billdo himself would have been on all the talk shows today if he were still president. Gore would have claimed to have led the expedition to unearth them. I think Kerry is quoted today as saying "Oh F***". Dean is thinking of which statement he needs to clarify.

Don't believe EVERYTHING you read. Nobody had a MAP of where these were??? I don't need a map to get me everywhere.....
only a memory. I have a feeling that the mosque that was just shelled down south was aimed at a snitch....a snitch with a memory.

Ho-hum. These do not sound like anything that Saddam could have provided to bad guys to use against us.

The big justification for war was to pre-empt use of such against us. Ping me when those turn up. (Understand, I'm not saying they won't, but this is a nothing story)

Even if these weapons are 10 years old, that makes it 1993-94 that they were buried/manufactured/produced- whatever. Iraq would have STILL been in violation of the Gulf War Treaty, thus giving the US and the UK reason to bounce Saddam. Burying weapons is not the same as destroying them.

"For example I am deeply disapointed that there is no evidence for a link between al qaeda and saddam even though the president spoke about it on serveral occasions as fact."

There was some evidence, however circumstancial, that Al-Quada people had been in Baghdad for some unknown reason.

If they weren't involved with Iraq in some way, then why were they there?

Grasping at straws? - - - Maybe.

Per Greg Palkot just now on Fox: Four separate tests all indicate the liquid is a blister agent. More sophisticated tests to follow.

Rooster...We carried around A-bombs left over from WW2 during the Korean thing. I suspect they would have killed just as many. Also I watched an uncle that underwent mustard gas attack in WW1, he suffered for many many years. Yes I know I am old, you don't need to remind me.

I don't think I am going out on a limb saying that there will be some desperation in the coming days as it proved that these are chemical weapons. First the complaint was "there are no chemical weapons". HOw many times have we heard that. After the coming proof that there was some they will say "But.. there are no new chemical weapons".. and it will go on and on like that until they are left saying, "well he should have found them sooner"..

So I don't think this is a gun, let alone a smoking gun for the reason we went to war. We did afterall go on this with the belief that Saddams weapons posed a threat to us.

It looks like W just lost another vote to Dr Deamentia! It's nice to see McAwful is monitering this sight!

These ARE WMDs enough said. Fact is there is sufficient proof that these weapons existed and were hid while we were wasting our time with Hans McGoo. The American people are alot smarter than PravdABDNC.

Pray for W and Our Troops
