Lee boy Malvo kills or helps to kill several people, and all he gets is 20 years or less? What is it with the American criminal justice system? Is it really nothing more than a glorified lottery?

OK, she poisons one man and gets the death penalty. Not to fret. Odds are in her favor she won't be executed. This is California, afterall.
