The last of three recent Douglas Freeman High School graduates pleaded guilty yesterday to a federal conspiracy charge for vandalism against construction sites, fast-food restaurants and sport utility vehicles parked in western Henrico County.

John Burton Wade, 18, pleaded guilty yesterday morning in U.S. District Court. Virden Blackwell, 20, pleaded guilty Dec. 18, and Aaron Labe Linas, 18, pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Thanks for the post. The parents of these hoodlums forgot to teach their precious little brats that: Life is hard: it's harder if you are stupid. I hope they get jail time.

Not if the judge makes the family pay. They come from well-off families. I say make Mom and Dad have to take out a second mortgage to cover the restitution costs if necessary since they failed to teach their kids right from right.

Plea agreements signed by each of the defendants make them responsible for paying restitution of more than $204,000 for damages suffered by the owners of the property vandalized.

These criminals have been brainwahed all their lives. The court needs to address that problem too. We need a life skills institute to send these types for re-programing. Make them normal again. And conservative.

Well, if two of the kids are 18 now, they might've been minors when the offenses were committed, and thus the parents would be liable for the restitution. That might not apply since the three punks were tried as adults, though. I don't know.

Personally I hope they get the book thrown at them. No need to put them in with murderers and rapists, but five years in a good medium-security lockup, combined with having half their wages attached until they pay their restitution, might be the bitchslap of reality that they need.

This stuff all happened in my neighborhood. I skate every day at the ice rink right next to the Short Pump Town Center mall.

I want them to do hard time. My car and/or SUV could very well have been vandalized. What if they had successfully blown up the construction equipment? That stuff costs multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars. And who knows who might have been hurt or killed.

They need to go to jail.

But I'm sure there'll be some sob story about how they couldn't buy the right kind of clothes and were scarred for life from that trauma so the court should exercise leniency.

Every leftie I have ever known is a spoiled rich kid who has adopted a facade of "proletarian brotherhood" or some other barking insanity either as a means of expiating some free form guilt over having never earned a damn thing on their own in their life or as part of some strange oedipus complex.

A trip to the slammer is probably the kind of radical shock therapy that they really need (although they'd probably come out as raging queens and immediately begin the sex change process).
