Stop the war on human rights? As in the way they marched in the streets in favor of Hussein and his shredders?

Yeah, right....

This is so stupid. I thought they were supposed to protest the upcoming convention, but sure enough, it devolves once again into the same old antiwar, anti-Israel, and Give Us Money b.s....

It's going to be "colder than Gus Hall" again on Thursday, and I bet they have a tiny turnout.

BTW, I believe this IS an ANSWER/IAC event, they're right there on the sponsor list and I'm sure it's on their websites too.

Some good info for the pro-Palestine kooks

Yasser's wealth
of problems

Yasser Arafat is rich, but his Palestinian Authority is going broke. And with foreign aid drying up, his economy chief has had to take out a bank loan to pay 125,000 workers.
"If this situation continues ... we will not be able to provide salaries next month," said Economy Minister Maher Masri.

Masri might want to consider hitting up the Palestinian Authority's leader for a loan.

While the Palestinians have grown poorer, Arafat has amassed a fortune estimated by Forbes at $300 million, putting him in sixth place on the list of richest world leaders. Israel says his real net worth exceeds $1 billion.

The Palestinians, however, blame their fiscal woes on the Israelis, who have refused to turn over millions in tax revenues and have enforced travel bans to deter terrorist attacks. Now the Palestinian Authority is facing a $400 million shortfall, according to the World Bank, despite having received $6.5 billion in foreign aid over six years.

Josh Block of the pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC said the Palestinian Authority is broke because Arafat and his cronies have been lining their pockets with aid money for years.

"If Yasser Arafat and the thugs running the PA hadn't stolen their people's money and spent it on terrorism, not only would they be able to make payroll, they would have the money to invest in improving people's lives," Block said. "Clearly, terrorism is their priority."

Under U.S. pressure, the Palestinian Authority recently installed Texas-trained bean counter Salam Fayyad to keep track of the cash. Still, Arafat controls virtually all the aid money and doles it out through a personal patronage system.

And while nearly half his people are unemployed and survive on less than $2 a day, Arafat's wife and daughter live in a swanky Parisian hotel and get a monthly allowance of $100,000. Arafat lives modestly in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Concerns about corruption and unending violence in the Holy Land have taken a toll on donations. The World Bank, which last year gave $37 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority, said their donors are not giving like they used to. Also, U.S. and Arab sources told the Daily News that the Saudis and Europeans, both big Arafat backers, also may start cutting back.

"The issue here is that some of the Arab donors are not meeting their obligations, and the Europeans are finally starting to put requirements on their money," added a member of Israel's ruling Likud Party. The U.S. has also been keeping the Palestinians afloat with donations to charitable groups. But until Arafat goes, the Palestinian Authority will not get any direct payments from the White House.

-Yasser Arafat’s estimated worth is between $300 million and $1.3 billion.
-Wife Suha and daughter Zahwa live on $100,000 a month in Paris, far from Arafat’stwo-room West Bank residence.
-He holds a 23% stake in a $28.5 million casino in the West Bank city of Jericho.
-Profits from all gasoline imported into territories.
-Owns a $55 million firm that controls most of the cement trucked to West Bank and Gaza.
-Has several Swiss bank accounts.

I would guess they are not going to be allowed to block Seventh Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets just at the time of day when everyone is fleeing to the trains like the cast of a Japanese monster movie.

The only reason I can see for choosing that location at that time is to interfere with commuters.

That'll make them lots of friends.

Protest in NYC to say NO to Bush's War! Current rating: 0 by New Jersey Solidarity

Why can't these mutants stay in their own damn state and leave my city alone?!

It's just like last March, when I had to travel out of Penn Station on the same Saturday afternoon that these hygienically challenged twits invaded this city and then clogged up Penn Station -- and literally took turns cursing out and screeching at the National Guardsmen stationed there.

I resent having my tax dollars go for police overtime, sanitation overtime (because they're such damn pigs!) and everything else which they cost us.
