Tests by Danish, British and U.S. experts have been inconclusive in determining if mortar shells unearthed last week in southern Iraq contain a blister agent, a Danish army spokesman said Wednesday.

The 36 shells, discovered last week by Danish troops, are believed to be from the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

And the party on the left
Is now party on the right
And their beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

This is classic Gubmint Speak:

"The tests came back negative therefore the tests were inconclusive."

Tests by Danish, British and U.S. experts have been inconclusive...Tests by U.S. experts from the Iraq Survey Group on five of the shells have shown no trace of chemical weapons...

Danes say tests on suspect mortar shells inconclusive

Tests by Danish, British and U.S. experts have been inconclusive in determining if mortar shells unearthed last week in southern Iraq contain a blister agent, a Danish army spokesman said Wednesday.

U.S. intelligence officials also claimed Iraq had failed to destroy stocks of sarin, cyclosarin and VX in violation of U.N. resolutions. So far, however, no such materials have been found nine months after the collapse of Saddam's regime.

Bump!! Well there goes another theory.

Thanks for the ping, billbears.

I guess we had nothing to worry about all along! {/ sarcasm off}

Chemical warhead found at an Iraqi air base, marked with a green band, the symbol for chemical weaponry. Trace amounts of a nerve agent were found at two spots along the ~meter-long warhead. These amounts are consistent with leakage from the chemically armed weapon. A 13-foot missile was found next to it.

Ok Billbears..I guess Dr. Hamza (Iraqi nuclear physicist) must have been lying to us in his book.

Excerpts from "Saddam's Bombmaker"
2. on Page 2:
"...The terror of Sàddam's regime knew no bounds. Two colleagues had been imprisoned for simply expressing doubts about the nuclear program. One was hung daily by his thumbs and beaten ... Saddam had been within a few months of completing the bomb when he invaded Kuwait. None knew of Saddam's crash program to bypass a test and drop one on the Israelis ..."

3. on Page 5:
"... SADDAM'S BOMBMAKER lowed by a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics at Florida State University (which he had just acquired ...

...his instructions to lay the groundwork for an atomic bomb. Even though they framed their request in the most innocuous terms, my shock must have registered."

4. on Page 6:
"... KHIDHIR HANTZA play along, they said, to keep the money flowing. Besides, they reassured me, making an atomic bomb... he (Saddam) yearned for the same respect Israel got from its nuclear bombs. Saddam reacted poorly to delay. Some of my colleagues were sent to jail to refresh their enthusiasm for the ..."

5. on Page 7:
"... I became his assistant. Needless to say, I was frightened. And my fear grew when Saddam named me his personal nuclear adviser and ordered me to design and build the bomb-and fast. What an ironic reward, I often thought, for someone who had balked At dissecting a laboratory frog, who had ..."

6. on Page 26:
"...Unfortunately, however, Abdullah taught only classical physics, the science of matter and energy; the most beguiling developments were in nuclear energy, including the atom bomb."

7. on Page 27:
"...What a lucky, lucky country, I thought. Then came the Cuban missile crisis. Nuclear weapons were no idle curiosity for me, of course. ... to study nuclear physics. I had no interest in building bombs- the thought repulsed me."

8. on Page 34:
"(Saddam)... wiping grease from his mouth and raising a wineglass toward me. "You are a smart guy, a physicist. An Iraqi nuclear physicist." He pronounced each word distinctly. "How about that?" They have nuclear bombs.(Israel) We have nothing. AK-47s-slingshots. We have no way of catching up to the Israelis as long as they have the ..."

9. on Page 46:
"... talk: projects and gossip, the usual stiff when colleagues gather after work. The subject shifted to international developments in nuclear power, upcoming conferences, scientific research. ...Had I read the new book called The Israeli Bomb? It was written by Fouad Jábir, an American of Palestinian origins. Of course I had. It was the talk of ..."

"Last year, (David) Albright told Australia's Lateline, "I must apologize that we no longer can in any way recommend Dr. Hamza. I unfortunately now believe he is deliberately distorting both his past credentials and his statements about Iraqi nuclear capabilities then and now."

Albright said, "I believe that his statements are often inaccurate, they're inconsistent," adding, "I think he's distorted his title dramatically." Following his defection, Hamza had worked for Albright's institute for two years.

On February 26, 2003, WND revealed the contents of a UN document marked "SENSITIVE", from UNSCOM and the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, that revealed the United Nations concluded a document provided to them by Hamza was a "fake."

The UN document is a record of the de-briefing of defector Hussein Kamel, son-in-law to Saddam Hussein and previous head of the of Iraq's Military Industrialization Corporation, in charge of Iraq's weapons program. The interview was conducted in Amman on 22 August 1995, 15 days after Kamel left Iraq.

The eight-year old document also records Kamel as saying Hamza was a "professional liar" that was "so bad" he was allowed to leave Baghdad.

Testimony from other Iraqi scientists was similar. Dr. Imad Khadduri and others, previously told WorldNetDaily that Hamza had worked in the position he claimed to hold for only 6 months, and was dismissed in 1987 for inferior performance.

The position he claimed to hold, Dr. Khadduri said, was actually held by Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Said who headed up "Group 4" activities under the secret PC3 group.

According to the U.S. government, Dr. Said died in a hail of bullets after he failed to stop quickly enough at an American checkpoint in Baghdad on April 8, 2003.

An Associated Press report later raised doubts about the situation surrounding the death of Said.

Scientists and witnesses said that Khalid Ibrahim Said was killed not when he tried to "run a roadblock," as U.S. inspector David Kay had said, but when a U.S. tank crew blasted his civilian vehicle without warning on an open street.

Dr. Hamza returned to Iraq, being sent by the administration as an authoritative source to investigate the status of the Iraqi nuclear program.

Khadduri previously told WND that although Said held the position Hamza claimed to, the real prime movers of the nuclear program had been Dhafir Selbi, Jafar Dhia Jafar, and Humam Abdul Khaliq.

From your link:
"The warhead is about the width of a coffee can and is marked with a green band which, military sources told CNN, is the universal symbol for chemical weaponry."

..............................................

Surely you know that chemicals and biological agents are only loaded into a weapon just before it is used? It has been aknowleged that it IS a chemical weapon.

If you want to argue that, than you are just being obtuse.

Um, four tests positive. Later tests on 5 out of 36 negative. Doesn't say later tests on all 36 negative. Very likely, they are old mustard rounds, with only traces left. Some don't test positive on less sensitive tests because there isn't enough left on them. They are probably Iran war era, not recent. Nobody disputes that Iraq used tons of chemical weapons in that war.

Ah, I see. You want to believe the U.N., and Hussein Kamel (son-in-law of Saddam Hussein, who was beheaded), but Hamza is a liar?

OK...Goodbye.

You posted a picture of a weapon and claimed that tests declared it a chemicle weapon. Only that was patently untrue and posted a link to the article that debunked your claim.

I was thinking for a moment that you had a more recent story that backed your claim, but seeing as you don't the people on this thread will think you are a phony.

Then you wrote: "It has been aknowleged that it IS a chemical weapon" which you base on the fact that this weapon, which tested negative for chemicle weapons, is a chemicle weapon because it has the universal marking, a green band on it.

Yeah, that is rock solid. Why don't you got back to a liberal media thread that is probably more your pace?
