12:34 p.m. EST January 8, 2004 - A West Palm Beach man faced charges Thursday after he was caught sexually assaulting a neighbor's dog, Palm Beach County deputies said.

Officials said William McPhillips, 50, a registered sex offender, sexually assaulted a young mixed-breed dog (pictured, left). Deputies said a caretaker at McPhillips' group home saw the attack.

"(McPhillips) noticed he was being watched," said Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy Cassie Kovacs. "He covered himself with a sheet, and then the dog got away, and then she saw (McPhillips) masturbating himself."

Kovacs said McPhillips (pictured, far right) was allegedly sodomizing the dog with a spoon, and the dog was yelping in pain. Kovacs added that the incident was not the first time McPhillips has been seen involved in disturbing acts with the dog and other animals.

Oh the humanity....or should I say something else?

The lack of it, I guess. I couldn't bear to eat chicken for awhile after I heard that story. Now I'll have to put it out of my mind again!

"Is this what FR is for?"

According to the Home page...No.

Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

One of my dear friends worked in an ER, and she said a man walked in with a trenchcoat on. When he opened it up, he had a chicken stuck in an inopportune place on his body. The poor chicken was just hanging there, dead as a doornail.

I do hope the chicken didn't die of asphyxiation.

OK...OK...

I guess I have to state it. Muttly finds such things degrading, so, denying true evil (which attempts to degrade whatever is made in God's image) any victory he is able...

...ignores such things, publicly...

...but I make private notes, and send my report upstairs.

This disgusting event is a poster child (mixed metaphors?) for the death penalty.

People like that can't be cured (he was already a sex offender).

Execution for such sicko crimes was good enough for the founders of this country, it's good enough for me.

Is this what FR is for?

I am glad some people are showing up to dispute the validity of posting bestiality threads on FR.

I haven't seen any lately, but some weeks ago I was roundly criticized and pretty much attacked verbally for suggesting that it wasn't a good use of humor to post ways a person could preform these acts.

IMO this type of thread belongs in the Smokey Back Room or not here at all. But that is just me. At least on this one some posters are questioning the validity of these acts and actually condemning them instead of just joking about it.

I don't mind if some people see me as a prude for commenting about the fact this type of thread is offensive and tasteless.

I too wish the dog would have "taken a bite out of crime." What kind of freak looks at a dog and thinks "Got to get me some of that."? I mean, I love my cat, but not that way. ;)

Do you also think that the media, in general, should leave stories like this out of the news? Or is it just that it really is inappropriate for a conservative forum? Would it be appropriate over at DU?
