This is one of the reasons I am very much in favor of Bush's immigration proposal. There is increasing awareness that many of these people have, or are capable of, working their way north and slipping across the Mexican border, or that they have criminal connections with people already in the US. I think getting a grip on the identities of at least most of our millions of "hidden" immigrants will provide us with an opportunity to sort some of these people out. Plus, who knows what other involvement we might find?

The IRA, for example, is known to have been hired by these people to help them refine their car bombing techniques. Just a few months ago, one of the IRA's "best" bombmakers was arrested in Brazil (IIRC), where he had allegedly gone to train Hezbollah or even possibly even al Qaeda members in the Triple Border area.
