WHAT A WONDERFUL POST -- WHAT A WONDERFUL MOMENT -- WHAT A WONDERFUL PRESIDENT!

It just underscores for me how complacent many in this country (and at FR) have become. Now that the economy/stock market is back and our War on Terror has prevented another attack on the homeland, many have chosen to conveniently forget what our president has had to overcome to get us to this point. UNBELIEVABLE. [Quite frankly, it reminds me of what the Brits did to Churchill!]

FYI: Since the leftist media will be OVER publicizing recent polls by Gallup and CBSNews/NYTimes, I thought you might want to know what today's tracking poll of LIKELY VOTERS indicates about the President's approval rating:

January 15-17, 2004
57% approve
(35% strongly approve vs 27% strongly disapprove) -- tied with highest approval rating for the month -- strongly disapprove lowest for the month! FYI:: These numbers correlate with an equivalent increases in consumer and investor confidence!

FYI: The President's job approval decline among 'generic' adults noted by Gallup and NYTimes has come almost exclusively from Independent voters; Republicans still support the President by over 90% -- and it is REPUBLICANS not conservatives who comprise the President's base! (BTW: Libertarians are neither Republican or conservative)!

With all due respect, it's rintense's thread, not mine. :o)

She started it, and posted it for 2 and a half years before taking a breather, and letting some of the rest of us post it.......

It's now called 'Sanity Island' and keeps us all from totally losing it with the so-called conservatives hijacking, and bashing this fine President on every thread possible.

Glad you like it!

That is a great photo. I have never seen that one before, I have saved it to my HDD. Just gotta post it again (only bigger):

Just want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts in supporting the President and creating Sanity Island. While I don't agree with everything that he has done, he is better than I ever thought possible. When I cast my ballot in 2000 it was a vote against Gore, even though it was counted for GWB. I expected more politics as usual, similar to his dad's, where we would not make ANY progress toward conservatism. I have been very pleasantly surprised that on a LOT of occasions he has stuck victories for conservatism and slowed the creep toward socialism.

My expectations of President Bush was low, but at least he wasn't the rabid environazi, who thought that the greatest threat to our existance was the internal combustion engine. President Bush knows where our greatest threat lies, and he is strong enough, courageous enough, bold enough, and SMART enough to destroy the Democrats along with the terrorists.

As great a president as Reagan was, President Bush is more capable, and able to accomplish more. I will enthusiastically vote FOR President Bush this fall. (Although part of me will still be voting against whichever of the dwarves that wins the nomination)8^)

You've made my day, Colonel Jim, sir. To borrow your words "how refreshing" --- well it surely is refreshing to read your heart felt comment that you "love him as well."

To: The Wizard; the tongue
Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this thread, Wizard. This President has shown tremendous courage time and time again. Going out on that ball field so soon after 9/11 quite possibly is the most manly thing I've ever seen a president do.

To "the tongue," I also consider George Washington the greatest American ever, and one of the most significant people who ever lived. But I do think that over the past three years since 9/11, George W. Bush became one of the top four or five presidents ever. We don't have the benefit of the long view, yet, but I believe when the history of this period can been fully assessed, GWB also will be among the most significant world leaders ever — especially if a genuine form of democracy can take root in Iraq and grow throughout the Arab world.

Ooohhh! I LIKE it bigger! (saving it, thank you!)

And I agree with so much of what you said.

You don't have to agree with everything President Bush says or does to understand how strong a President he is.

(And it will be a pleasure for me to vote AGAINST a Dean/Kerry/Clark/whatever candidacy in November, as well!)

He already is up there among the greatest — in the top four or five most significant presidents ever. We are all still living in the day, so we won't know the full scope of his impact for perhaps another generation or two. But this already is a presidency for the ages, as was said of Lincoln on his death — "now he belongs to the ages."

I hope that ball and that jacket will be in his presidential library some day. I haven't visited a presidential library yet, even though both the Nixon and Reagan libraries are not too far from where I live. But I already anticipate going to Dubya's if the good Lord graces me with a life that extends well beyond middle age.

As I listen to the jabberings of the misc. democrats who are attacking the President,

You forgot to add "conservatives" to that list of attackers.

President Bush has shown courage in so many areas. He does what he thinks is right for this country no matter what it costs him politically. That is leadership.

Some don't want a leader, they want a puppet who will do their bidding, or be cast aside.

I love the pictures from the Inauguration.

That was one of the happiest days of my life, after 8 years of Bill Clinton.

I cannot look at the emotion, determination and, yes, defiance in that face and ever consider abandoning that man in this year of his drive to be re-elected. We owe him more than we may ever fully know.

There are all kinds of ways a president might have handled 9/11, the anthrax attacks, and their aftermath. To the naysayers: Let your imagination run toward how a simpering Jimmy Carter might have reacted, or the feckless Bill Clinton, or the strange Al Gore, or any one of the current Dem presidential wannabes. Then compare the way you imagine how any of them would have comported themselves to how George W. Bush comported himself during those horrible days. Then ask yourself if you want to risk turning the safety of your family and yourself over to anyone other than Dubya for the next four years.

Domestic policy matters can be fought in the Congress (that's what Congress is for). But foreign policy is entirely the president's purvue. It's something to keep uppermost in one's mind as the election approaches.
