***The Courage Of George W. Bush***
Stardate: 0401.17

Posted on 01/17/2004 8:02:01 PM PST by The Wizard

As I listen to the jabberings of the misc. democrats who are attacking the President, those who were in the services, et al, I always remember one sight I will never forget the rest of my life......

A few days after 9-11 when no one knew what was happening and who was behind it, and no one was really sure if it was over, I watched George Bush, all alone, walk out to the mound at Yankee Stadium, in front of 55 thousand people and as clean a target as ever existed, show the world that America, (at least this American) wasn't going to be intimidated.....and there, all alone, no SS, no NYPD, nothing, he threw out that first ball.......

You could hear America stop breathing until he was off the field.......

That took more guts than anything any of these pathetic weasels ever did in their lives.......

I will never forget that.....ever......

Don't know if I'd put him in the company of Washington, who I consider maybe the most important person who ever lived, but I'm proud of him as CIC. He's done a good job on this War on Terror. Government spending he's completely around the bend on, but WOT, he's got my vote of confidence.

I remember that night as I clutched my husband's hand and moaned "why is he doing this"...it seemed madness. In retrospect, I can see it gave me and millions of others courage.

Bless you for remembering. We needed a strong leader and he delivered.

Yep. I think I quit breathing for a few minutes. I can feel the feeling in my chest the same as when he did it.

It was a brave courageous act.

I need to remind my 8 y.o. again.

I recall the commentators going ape:

"Holy God, he threw a strike! Didja see that? Bush threw a strike!!"

Only the sight of an American Eagle landing on his outstretched arm, would've been greater.

I remember when he did that....we were all still in shock over 9/11.....he threw a perfect ball right over the plate.

Dubya belongs up there among our greatest.

Thanks be to God for those 537 Floridians who gave him the votes needed to get Florida's electoral votes.

Too many have forgotten...

Yes they have. I look at that lineup of Democrats and know where we'd be had any one of them been faced with September 11, the Wall Street scandals and a recession.
