I (Carter) didn't invite him (Dean)

Even though he hosted Dem hopeful Howard Dean in Plains, Georgia on Sunday, former President Jimmy Carter annoyed Dean's senior advisers when he claimed that Dean was not invited! "He called me on the phone and said he'd like to worship with me," Carter explained. "I did not invite him, but I'm glad he came."
Carter said he has also visited with retired Gen. Wesley Clark, and hopes he will again. The embarrassing Dean moment came after Dean was pressed in recent interviews on why he would leave Iowa at a crunch time.
Dean said he could not turn down an invitation to appear with a former president he admires, the WASHINGTON POST reports on Monday. But when a visitor to the Marantha church thanked Carter for inviting Dean, Carter quickly interjected, "I did not invite him!"

Beautiful. The credibility factor of this bunch is falling rapidly. Stay tuned for a meltdown.

Dean knew he could sucker Carter into doing this, Carter is the type of fool that can be played by anyone, as long as they come bearing a Bible in their hands.

Another Dean lie.Or, Carter invited Dean when Dean was winning... and now he's retro-actively un-invited him. That's how it works in politics. Just like Willie Brown retroactively decided not to attend Jack Davis' party with the "Apache Whiskey Ritual." (you had to be there to know what I'm talking about, or at least have read the S.F. Comic Strip by Don Admussen (sp?)...)

No kidding. We sheeple aren't supposed to wonder about Dean (the rare church attendee), especially when he decides to hop on a plane from Iowa and goes to Georgia to attend church with Jimmeh Cahtah. This is definitely worthy of a barf bag.

In other news, Dean and Carter discussed policies designed to sap the morale of the military and of the country, how to attain 20% inflation and 20% interest rates, give away the Erie Canal, and to surrender to Al Queda, Iran, North Korea, Syria and France.

I think carrying Mao's little red book is sufficient to impress Jimmah.

I suspect it was Carter who did the lying. When he heard Dean saying he couldn't say no, that he had to go, and sounding very unhappy about the invitation. It made ole Jimmy mad!!!

This is definitely worthy of a barf bag. Nice thing is, this cuts against Howie with his base. Some Rat voters were quite comfortable with his lack of religion, but they despise religious hypocracy more than even having a set of religious beliefs. Is it any wonder Mad How has lost steam the last ten days or so?
