Napoleon's giant tortoise he kept as a pet when he was exiled to St. Helena was still alive in the 1970's.
OK, I did an Internet search! Napoleon's giant turtle is STILL ALIVE!! 220 years old!! His name is Johnathan and lives at the Governor's mansion on St. Helena. Here is a pic of the old fellow:
