That is the liberal mantra. Anytime anyone comments or criticizes on something that mantra comes out. That doesn't mean you are a liberal, but it should make you think about that same old specious argument -- the way to sweep everything under the rug.

It's funny. My comment was about how the article was a sham. It made no sense. The show was over many months ago. She made half a million dollars at least.

She is currently on promotional tours for the show. She is a star of a major TV show.

Yet the article presented things as if she were a teacher at a Catholic school. It was ludicrous.

The subject got changed to being defensive and attacking me.

I can partially understand your point; your interpretation of the article is that it is a bunch of bovine feces; I'll honor/respect that opinion. But just because you don't like the article, doesn't mean that others should be prevented from commenting on it. For example:

Um, why is a TV show worth posting to FR? And at that, why an article that is simply PR hype?...Articles like this are make believe. This is all for show and for advertising...I never said I want to see this thread pulled. I'd say I'd like to see them not posted because it is weird for FR. Pulled, no. You miss my whole point. An article about this show might be approriate. This is just a PR placed article that is essentially make believe.

I've seen articles on Free Republic that are much more "weird" than this one; for example, the article/thread on Johnny Rotten appearing in a reality show. To me Johnny Rotten is weird, but that shouldn't stop others from posting the thread (you posted a comment on this thread). Or consider the "Streakers in restaurant watch as their car is stolen" thread; that may be weird to others, but your comment was that it was "funny". My point: if you don't like something, don't bother to read it. But also don't condemn others for wanting to post or read it.

The subject got changed to being defensive and attacking me.

Well, your very first post on this thread was the sarcastic statement of "You a network ad exec?". YOU set the tone for the replies made to you.

The deal is, though, why is this at FR? This and myriad other nonsense posts. There are many posts like this and I feel the same about all of them. FR didn't used to have such showbizzy gossip nonsense. It's fine for TV Guide chat room.

Like I said; no one has a gun to your head, forcing you to read the thread. If you don't like it, just move on.

BTW, I don't see your name on the list of donors. Do you contribute to Free Republic? If not, then don't bother to comment on the threads that are posted.
