It sounds like this network is also a message to the homosexuals that they will not be able to take the properties so easily. The homosexuals like robinson must have been counting on the orthodox episcopals leaving and keeping the parishes.
This also makes it veeeeery dificult to just fire those that state homosexual bishops are against the teachings of God. United We Stand.
As much as I would favor a schism from a reactionary perspective, this seems like a stronger long term strategy. Now if only they can increase their numbers.
talk of schism was downplayed during the two-day meeting at a church in suburban Dallas. One reason is that parishes would likely be forced to surrender their properties to the denomination if they leave. One thing the Episcopalians cannot be accused of is flighty, too-quick action from hotheadedness. These folks are acting in accord with their true nature, not to rush to a split, but to try with all diligence to work out a godly solution. I do think the properties angle is a heavyweight in the balance of their considerations, though.
A schism may be, and probably is, unavoidable in the long run for any who have a tender conscience toward God's Word and man's accountability to it.
It is going to be interesting to see how this process continues to evolve.
