It isn't appropriate for the old warrior subject of this post, to have HIS personal feelings "edited"...
If that is how he felt or thought, then that is how he felt or thought..

I was just speaking from a different perspective.
We didn't think the effort and sacrifices were a wasted effort.
The mission was noble - the leadership from Congress and the support from civilians was not.
The only regrets I've ever heard any of my partners express, it that we all didn't come home alive or in one piece -- and the fact that we deserted our ethnic clans allies.

UNIVERSAL criticism should be reserved for the feckless politicians and pundits - that mismanaged the war effort and turned the nation against a worthy cause and a suffering military..
Those, who refused to use any means necessary to win the war quickly.

We would rather have buried the politicians, pundits, cowards, draft dodgers, educates and moronic pacifists in worm infested graves, than having buried any of our Marines or so many of those "uneducated savage" hill clansmen that fought along side us, heroically for their "freedom"..

We betrayed them, and left them to the untender mercies of the communists --- the same communists admired, even today, by most mainstream media "readers" and our leftist Hollywood assholes..

America, Mom and apple pie - will survive, for exactly as long as this nation is willing and able to defend the rights we have been blessed to enjoy..

But we didn't understand the enemy we faced there.

I think, in many repects, we don't understand the enemy we face in Iraq.

These things are hard, and war is ugly.

With the values we have today, we would have never won World War II or the Revolutionary War.

Watching war on tv and seeing the terrible cost is unbearable. When you add that the people providing us with the news are putting the worst possible face on all events, it is very difficult to sustain support for our efforts in Iraq. My how they have downplayed the capture of Saddam-- Kobe and Michael are given more attention than that momentous event.

I hope that most Americans share my contempt for the Left and that the American people will hand them unprecidented electoral and social defeats.
