Border Patrol agents are surveying illegal immigrants to find out whether they came to the United States because of President Bush's immigration reform announcement.

A local officer of the Border Patrol union decries the exercise as meaningless and a waste of agents' time.

...caught 85 people entering the country illegally, was surprised by their reaction...

"The (illegal immigrants) were, like, 'What's the problem? President Bush said it was OK,'"

And so it begins.

"'It does burden agents down with paperwork, like they don't have enough already,' he said."

What, is he saying it's too taxing to the agents' mental abilities to figure out which box to put a check mark in?

Last weekend it caught 85 people entering the country illegally, and Simcox said he was surprised by their reaction. His group calls Border Patrol agents when it catches illegal immigrants.

"They were, like, 'What's the problem? President Bush said it was OK,'" he said. "That's the attitude out there, and (Border Patrol) agents are totally demoralized."

The debacle of the Bush Amnesty continues, with all of it's long-predicted negative impact.

This is only the beginning, though, of the rush for Amnesty.

Keep in mind, the Cornyn Amnesty, S. 1387, would legalize Illegals who aren't even here yet, and Cornyn is a protege of President Bush.

Its not the bush plan specifically, they will still come, because they know once they do get here, they can stay. Very few illegals are deported once they have been here for a few months.

The illegals are taking jobs away from the legals. The unemployment rate for legals will go up in time for the election, and Dubya is a one-term President.

Karl Rove will go down in history as the most incompetent campaign advisor in American presidential politics.

How do you know Bush isn't ignoring Rove's advice?

If Bush is a man of conviction (albeit different convictions than many here) he might view this move as his Christian duty or something. Maybe poor Rove is stuck with the thankless job of trying to find the best way to spin what this president is determined to do.

Bush will never live in a neighborhood decimated by illegal immigration. He'll never worry about property taxes going through the roof to support the invasion. He'll never bat an eye at his car insurance reflecting a tidal wave of uninsured drivers.

And he will never have to work for wages driven down by an inexhaustible supply of desperate laborers willing to live 12 in a house.

And he will not be sending any children to a public school forced to cut vital classes in order to cater to the 15% of students who cannot speak English.
