Biologically speaking, this doesn't make sense to me. If he also contains cow DNA, how can they guarantee that his sperm will be full banteng with no cow in it?

This is exactly the kind of screw up Michael Critton wrote about in Jurassic Park. The scientists were missing DNA for the dinos so they used what they thought was the closest- amphibian.
