Ben Chandler: Wesley Clark best represents the values and culture of southern states
Chandler campaign press release ^ | Jan 8 2004 | Ben Chandler (D)

Posted on 01/23/2004 10:47:28 PM PST by Republican Wildcat

LEXINGTON (Jan 8) -- The following is a statement from Ben Chandler concerning his endorsement of General Wesley Clark for president. Yesterday, while campaigning in New Hampshire, General Clark telephoned Ben Chandler to seek his support.

"I am very proud to endorse General Wesley Clark for president," said Ben Chandler. "While we are blessed with a diverse and capable group of Democratic candidates, there is no doubt that General Clark best represents the values and culture of southern states, like Kentucky. His courageous service as a 4-star general, his independent streak, and intellect make him my candidate of choice as we move America forward through these difficult times."

“I am proud to support a candidate who is a champion to veterans and soldiers, has a plan to lower taxes for the middle-class, and the vision to create new jobs for Kentucky and the country. His offer to assist my campaign for Congress is greatly appreciated and I look forward to a close working relationship in the future."

I think we can do better than this.

Alice Forgy Kerr, Honesty and Real Values

(For those of you unfamiliar with this race, you should pay attention as it will be important nationwide. This is a special election for Congress on February 17 and could have implications for the momentum of either party going into November--it is the first major GOP vs. Dem contest of the year.)

Chandler: "there is no doubt that General Clark best represents the values and culture of southern states, like Kentucky."

Call to action, folks. Letters to the editor should ask Chandler if Clark's actions represent "Kentucky values" and the "values of the South", such as Clark's support for abortion to the moment of birth, and if he is proud to have joined liberal extremist Michael Moore in his endorsement of Clark. Does he agree with Clark that Moore is a "fantastic leader"? Does he agree with Moore that 9/11 was to take out Dem voters, arranged by the Pentagon to have an excuse to get its budget increased?

Chandler: "there is no doubt that General Clark best represents the values and culture of southern states, like Kentucky."

I don't think Kentuckians (or Southerners) will take too well to that statement.

Vote Alice Forgy Kerr!

If Chandler and Clark best represent the values and ideas of Southerners and the South, then the South has become a cesspool of hate, prevarication and incestuous corruption. I hope I make this statement with sufficient emphasis.

Clark is not necessarily gay, but he is not above pandering for the gay vote by hinting that he is. In fact, there's not much he is above doing. That's why Clinton likes him so much.
