The fact that this was a post at DU notwithstanding...I think I'll wait for official confirmation that the story is legitimate.
Hey folks, let's post our own stuff here...this is a Conservative site.

Drudge is linking the original story - to the website of the Knoxville News Sentinel. Are they the DU now? I must have missed the memo on that one...

(The only good news for Democrats is they could save $$ by switching to Geico.)

When Sean Hannity broke this, he implied that his source was a DEM.
Leahy is lying...nothing new with that.

Tracy Schmaler, spokeswoman for the committee's Democrats, said the Democrats share Hatch's outrage over the computer security violations. "This is unethical and immoral behavior that cannot and should not be tolerated," she said, "UNLESS OF COURSE, WE DO IT, IN WHICH CASE ITS OK."
You know, you democrat schmucks should consult with someone savvy with regard to computers, such as Al Gore, before you post sensitive files where they may be read by people you don't want reading them. Perhaps "Wally" from Dilbert could help you out....

I'd like to know if Republican staffers "hacked" into dem files. That would bother me.
But it sounds like they took advantage of dem stupidity. I have no problem with that, really.

I read "unethical" and "immoral" but not "illegal." If the computer illiterate Democrats left their war plans on an unsecure network, that's the equivalent of leaving them in "plain view." I simply don't see what they are complaining about. Do they leave sensitive national security documents equally unprotected? That is what I would like to see investigated!

Smells like Dem excuse to try and get a look at Republican data..

If the computer illiterate Democrats left their war plans on an unsecure network, that's the equivalent of leaving them in "plain view."I think that might depend on whether the network was public or not. If they accessed it without authorization (particularly if they knew they would not be welcome to access it) they could be considered in the same light as someone entering the closed door of an unlocked office and going through files they knew were off limits simply because it wasn't locked at the time. But if the network was available for public access, the Dems have no reason to gripe and the Pubbies did nothing wrong.

I'm sure this will get the same treatment that Democratic theft of the Republican redistricting plans in Texas, and the misappropriation of FBI files during the Clinton Administration got.

What you mean "post our own stuff"? If bad news is coming down the pike you want know about so you don't get blindsided by your Dem friends.
To: rebel_yell2
I remember when the Clinton White House was caught rifling through the 900 FBI files on former staffers and other Republicans, Clinton blamed it on a computer mix-up. He said it was the Republicans fault for leaving a file with all those names that somehow got confused with the new hires. Everybody just laughed it off.

I dont care what drudge is doing.
How about posting editorials, articles and stories from news organizations that provide something of substance, not supposition and maybe, mighta, coulda, sources say, etc, etc.
I think some of you just like posting and then barking at slanted news pieces versus promoting conservative ideas and principles.

Forgive me if I am not dissuaded by your narcissistic view of posting insight but this is an election year for the White House.....absolutely nothing should be blindsiding any of us.
