I believe that some disruptors are posing as Bushbots. When someone questions the President's performance, they loudly attack them and quote paragraphs from old polls showing how every Republican supports the President. This way, people who are wavering in their support for Bush will decide to stay home in disgust at the disrespect they receive from these Bush "supporters."

I would keep an eye out for disruptors who are too quick to bash, nag, or insult conservatives who question some of our President's initiatives.

The winner of the next election will either be GWB or the Democrap candidate. Anyone who does anything to help the Democrap gain office is a short-sighted dumb-ass. In any case, from where I sit, I see no grumbling about Bush from my conservative friends. Then again, they're realists.

Not at all, I supported him strongly in 2000. I'm just echoing the sentiment of many Republicans in this area of southern California. We thought we supported a conservative, and we have been greatly disappointed.

I am also from So Cal, and at least half of my friends are threatening to not vote for President Bush. I have never seen such anger in my lifetime over the immigration issue.

We have in the past used date of signup as a clear indicator of possible DU disruptors. Given FR's longevity at this point, that method may no longer be valid. Democrat disruptors may have shown up years ago when FR first became clearly a place of influence.

My only take would be this: did The Left predict that FR would become what it is today, way back when, and plan accordingly? They honestly predicted they would have Sore/Loserman in the WH four years back, and not even the Psychic Friends Network predicted The War On Terror.

While the "Member Since" Method is useful for going after trolls and DU'ers, what you can't predict at a glance is, when a FReeper will have turned and joined The Left. Only a pattern of anti-Bush posts over time would do that.

Absolutely he can lose. I pray for a large CONSERVATIVE victory in November 2004, but if he continues to reach out to the center/left he will experience the fate of his father. You gotta dance with them that brung ya. Otherwise send the fundraising letters to the center/left if that's who you're going to appeal to for votes.

Well Sink, I too am somebody you have run into a time or two--and you know I do have a lot of friends here. So listen up.

I have a long laundry list of historical Republican credentials--convention delegate (maybe as many as 16 times including state and county conventions); raised money, run campaigns, done it all. And like Rifleman and Janet, I have my own little list of specific problems with George II--although I agree that on some issues, not politically feasible to implement the real Republican agenda; on several others, not only feasible, but popular.

I don't like having American soldiers, underequiped and undersupplied, scattered all around the globe; with my own 19 year old son in the prime draft window; I don't like the fact that it is not possible to make money on any investment other than from speculative profits because the price goes up; I think free trade ought to be free on both sides and our trading partners do not have open trading borders and should not get access to our markets until they do; I don't like uncontrolled open borders; and I see government economic policy, both fiscal and monetary, as being run for the benefit of Wall Street Investment managers and not the citizens of the United States.

Yes, in theory the fed chairman runs monetary policy--but his replacement, instead of another fed psycophant like Bernanke, ought to be Paul Volker or some firm dollar supporter.

Do I want to dissent enough to get Slick Bill back? Tell me again how Slick Bill was so much worse for conservative Republicans than George II--I didn't like sending American troops all over the world under Slick; but I don't like it under George either. And I don't think Hillary will reinstitute the draft; and if she did, so will George.

Particularly if we can hold majorities in the Senate and House. How will Hillary be worse than George II?

Because the benefit we get from Hillary is an open contest in 2008 for the Republican nomination. Whereas if George II gets reelected, likely we will get Tom Ridge next.

I am almost at my breaking point with Dubya. The immigration was the last straw. That Medicare bill was another one. Right now the Repubs are spending like drunken sailors. No offense to the sailors either. I thought I voted for a fiscal conservative and right now I have a drunk sailor on shore leave.

The rumble from The Right can turn into a thunderstorm. The Left enjoys the monolithic support of all its factions; the Right is a dysfunctional family, who will cut and run at the first cross-eyed look across the table.

And there are a growing number of FReepers who will only shake your hand, to keep you in knife range...

I predict a whole mass defection of voters staying home. And THAT makes me upset. They're willing to throw away the right to vote, for which I'm manning the ramparts to give them.
