When Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee last year broke rank with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and called for a boost in troop levels, the Pentagon chief didn't fret. He began twisting arms. It worked. In legislation newly introduced to add troops, sponsor Rep. Ellen Tauscher, California Democrat, can't find a single GOP cosponsor.

The unwillingness of the Republicans in Congress to confront Rumsfeld & Co. has left us with an overstretched army and a president that may not win re-election.

It is also telling from this thread and another one about war being useful. The feelingof most of the Bush bots seems to be, open borders, globalism - Those things are fine. War all over the world is FINE. Yet (of course I am against the UN) they don't want to be in the UN either, which makes no sense - their POV that is. If the following thread is any indication of Bush supporters this year then this country is indeed in trouble, because you cannot tell a conservative from a dem and neither can they. I am a conservative (just not PRO Bush).
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1065613/posts I refuse to respond further to their bait. I think with conservatives like this who needs enemies.
