As he builds his lead with New Hampshire voters leading up to Tuesday's Democratic primary, Sen. John Kerry is no doubt hoping that copies of an old interview he gave during his first congressional race don't suddenly turn up.
It was 1970 and the ambitious Massachusetts Democrat had just returned from Vietnam, completely soured on America and its influence throughout the world.
Running against the Rev. Robert F. Drinan in Massachusetts' Third District, Kerry granted an interview to the Harvard Crimson.
He told the college paper that it was time to "almost eliminate CIA activity," according to excerpts obtained by the Boston Globe last June. What's more, Kerry wanted U.S. troops "dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."
After abandoning his challenge to Drinan, Kerry joined Vietnam Veterans Against the War and testified before the Senate, where he slammed the soldiers he served with as war criminals.
GIs in Vietnam, Kerry said, had "personally raped [Vietnamese civilians], cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephone to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."
Kerry later admitted he hadn't personally witnessed any of the atrocities he claimed his fellow soldiers had committed.

John Kerry is going to crash and burn, his chances of winning the south is Zilch, I will bet the democrats do not have a clear winner for the nomination until late February and Howard Dean might be able to pull it off.
The best part of this is that all these candidates are spending all their money before the Convention, leaving them with little to counter the full frontal assault the Bush/Cheney team will wage against whoever they nominate

Vietnam Veterans Against the War Statement by John Kerry, 1971 to the Senate Committee of Foreign Relations April 23, 1971
"We found most people didn't even know the difference between communism and democracy. They only wanted to work in rice paddies without helicopters strafing them and bombs with napalm burning their villages and tearing their country apart. They wanted everything to do with the war, particularly with this foreign presence of the United States of America, to leave them alone in peace, and they practiced the art of survival by siding with whichever military force was present at a particular time, be it Viet Cong, North Vietnamese or American. "
I guess Kerry doesn't know the difference between communism and Democracy either.

If he came out and said he led his platoon against villages of women and children and personally slaughtered them he might get Mickey Moores endorsement

It sure does. So where are some rich Republican tycoons?
They should form an organization and run ads to show the truth to the American people and debunk the Dems' lies.

My friend, this bad news for Kerry has a specific origin, as did Dean's in Iowa.
This is the work of a team of operatives who are committed to eliminating all opposition, by whatever means necessary, so that their agenda may advance.
Make no mistake. They have the people, they have the money, they've done the research, they've done it before and they are desperate.
They mean to win.
They mean to redeem Florida 2000.
They are not to be taken lightly.

Kerry was and is a classic liberal leftist ass. All I have to hear is that he "testified" to a long string of atrocities by his fellow soldiers, not a single one of which he had witnessed! What then, was he testifying to, his left wing fantasies?? His whole rap, that the Vietnamese didn't want to be free, they just wanted to work in rice paddies without the USA napalming them, is pure Ho Chi Minh left wing garbage. Kerry was obviously able to wipe the real misery of the Vietnamese and the sacrifices of his fellow soldiers (both brought about by Communist aggression) off his shoes like so much dog dirt. He came home with the same left wing lunacy he left with. He learned everything in Boston, nothing in Vietnam.

Sen. John Kerry is no doubt hoping that copies of an old interview he gave during his first congressional race don't suddenly turn up. Yet another reason why those FReepers freaking out over John Kerry's insurgency should just chill out. Don't worry, us consultants have more crap on this guy than any other. Also Clark. Edwards is the tougher one to slam.

... Sen. John Kerry is no doubt hoping that copies of an old interview he gave during his first congressional race don't suddenly turn up. I'm sure he hopes that many of his old interviews don't suddenly turn up.
He's probably said so many stupid things in the past and voted for so many stupid things in his long Senate career. It should be easy to find many things that will shame him before the American electorate.
