Today I cleaned my food pantry and assessed the canned items needed to survive an event that closes stores or prevents us from going anywhere. Made a list of must have items and will purchase them this week Just something to consider. We(people of the west) really only need to survive 3-4 days, 10 days max off the grid. Why just 10 days? If we really have a teotwawki event, there's simply no way we can prepare for months on end. Weeks, certainly...months/years? Heh. You show me a person prepared for a year without power and food and I will show you a guy with a gun to his head 2 weeks after he needs a year of power and food.

Therefore, to be completely ready, the person prepared for a year would have his/her gun at the looters head.

I took into consideration that my grown children and grandchildren might try to get to us and neighbors may have no supplies at all. Not everyone thinks like FReepers.
