Even Kay has stated that Bush told the truth about WMD's in Iraq as we knew it at that point. If you are eating "crow" in front of your friends it is because you haven't been paying attention to what's on the menu.

I'm surprised that the Bushbots here haven't posted Southack's "Litany of Wonderful Things President Bush has Done", which anyone could do about any President. It is a mindless exercise. If a President happened to be liberal, and using that laundry list format, he could be made to sound like a right winger, and vice versa.

If GW looses, I don't think you can blame it on those of us who can't force ourselves to vote for him again just to keep a socialist from winning. If all the "Bushlickers" had been on our side all last year, then GW would have repented by now and we could all vote for him in November.

I'd love to hear you explain how you would propose to increase the number of Republican voters in your particular age group.

If you are in your middle years, the short answer is that you can't. Very few converts will occur. New voters for either party have to come from younger voters either reaching voting age, or having previously reached voting age, becoming active.

Democrats have no message to convince younger voters to side with them. Republicans have the foreign policy advantage, but they are selling out to the Dems on domestic issues. A small tax cut with deficit spending with wide-open borders, and massive off-shoring of jobs, is not going to do the trick.

Younger voters (not me, I'm probably older than you) are getting the hint that neither party cares about their future or the future of the nation. Their numbers (of eligible voters) are increasing by over 16 million per election cycle, and will be the majority of voters before 2012 (less than two election cycles). Our numbers will only decrease from now until we are gone. They are not apathetic.

If a party wants their support, they had better pay attention to the younger voters. The majority of them are not liberals.

God forbid that there are still those of us left in the Republican party who put our principles before political expediency and party loyalty. I'd be a millionaire if I had a nickel for everytime a "conservative" on this free republic forum blasts the Democrats for their outrageous spending and the Clinton administration for his big government policies. But apparently it's okay to embrace big government policy and outrageous spending as long as a Republican does it, right? Please...

I'd much rather represent the "ugly side of conservatism" and stay true to my principles of less government than be a party loyalist who let's a politician get away with anything simply because they have an "R" behind their name.

Quite simply; off the top of my head, I can name you TEN Democrats who are switching to the GOP. And those are just the ones I can name right this second.

See, WE have life experiences and WE know what is at stake here.

WE don't want this country to be turned over to the Democrats and the UN; now, if you and your YOUNG friends think this is some kind of game and you're all holding your breath until you get everything you want, I'm kind glad I may not live to see YOU unappeasables take over the conservative movement.

You notice I didn't say "take power" because, no matter how many years pass, you right wingers will NEVER field a candidate that the entire country will elect.

Well .. I for one never said that about CFR. In fact, I was one of many who wanted the President to veto it.

But .. the President is who he is .. and he has a right to support and put forward those things he thinks are important. And while I don't necessarily agree with several of those things .. I would never consider not voting (or not volunteering my time to the RNC) .. and I would never consider voting for a democrat.

If that makes me an apologist .. so be it!

exactly. Bush hasn't been conservative in a lot of ways, but he is doing a good job. Geez. Just the fact that the lefties are so pissed at him should show us that he's on the right track.

The prescription drug bill is an entitlement, but it starts the process of privatizing medicare. And it doesn't give away drugs for free. Look, I'm not crazy about it, but it's better than we would have gotten from a Democrat. (not directing this at you, just frustrated at the temper tantrums out there)
