Somalia was a noble cause, but like Vietnam, it wasn't fought correctly. How was it the media could find the warlords but the Army couldn't?? The worst part of it all is that because of the failure in Somalia, Clinton/Albright didn't have the 'nads to do what was right in Rwanda, at the cost of 1 million dead. And I thought Bill Clinton was the "first Black President."

And those anti-war protestors that ended up forcing us out of Indochina have the blood of two million Cambodians killed by the Khmer Rouge on their hands.

After Nixon resigned, Kerry and other Leftists did something even more awful. They prevented South Korea from getting military aid (not troops or pilots) which had been solemnly promised to them. So the panzer divisions entered Saigon, now Ho Chi Minh City, and all the non-communist nations of Southeast Asia which had been involved in this long war fell to communism.

Hello? Blocked military aid to South Korea results in Panzers entering Saigon?

Richard Nixon's War? Kerry served in Vietnam when Lyndon Baines Johnson was president not when Richard Nixon was president. The Vietnam War had been a big political issue, but that issue was first presented to the American people in 1964, not 1968.

Nice to see that someone caught this lie of Kerry's

Are you not reading the full sentence? We were not the only ones fighting there. He made an error. He is speaking of South Vietnam. There was much fear, and still is, of the Red Chinese in SE Asia. We promised South Vietnam military aid and knew that without it, they were goners. Panzer divisions is figurative speech. You know full well he meant an onslaught and tens of thousands of deaths when the Communists purified the south. It was tantamount to a largescale human sacrifice, OURS and THEIRS, to the Cong who never should have been able to defeat US on any damb battlefield. It was one of the more shameful moments in America's history, and it was brought to you by....THE LEFT! And I am not excusing the politically afraid right either. They caved or NVN would have been bombed back to the stoneage.

FYI

South Vietnam never fell to communist insurgents. It fell to panzer divisions coming out of a very well supplied North Vietnam, which was essentially all of the military power in this so-called "Civil War." The key was to stop the totalitarian thugs of Hanoi from waging a conventional war behind the safe haven of the borders of North Vietnam.

Do you read whole articles or just a couple of sentences?

Of course he made an error! That I spotted the glaring error is a tribute to my keen reading ability. Now in regard to the error and the figurative use of panzers which I haven't commented on yet but I will. If the author of the piece wishes it to be taken seriously he needs to be more careful in the editting and perhaps use a better figurative expression. There's no need to dress it up in colorful allusions to fictional panzer divisions when the truth is more than sufficiently damning as to the who and what supplied the NVK.

From Kerry's testimony:

"We are also here to ask, and we are here to ask vehemently, where are the leaders of our country? Where is the leadership? We are here to ask where are McNamara, Rostow, Bundy, Gilpatric, and so many others."

Kerrys claim of Vietnam is "Nixon's War" doesn't stand up
