The USS Silversides is a floating sub museum in Muskegon, Michigan, and has a small museum dedicated to submarines. It's apparently in working order.

They have a tour, and it was excellent for kids and adults

I've been there twice - an excellent experience...

One thing (of many I learned) was that the deck wood on the boats was teak- not for water resistance, but because it didn't float and thus would not reveal a sub had been through if a piece was lost...

If you're ever in the New York metropolitan area, the USS Ling (Balao Class, 1945?) is a museum anchored in Hackensack, NJ. Tiny little sucker, when you get right next to it.

Heck, the passive sonar on our attack subs can track the clicks of shrimp!

Here's a laugh...Maybe they are planning on trying to immitate the sounds of shrimp. But if you our guys pick up a shrimp clicking along at 10 nauts, that might be a give-away ;)

It seems to me that active pinging would locate them.

The last I heard, the Requin is somewhere in the midwest like Kansas City or St. Louis.

I think we can track schools of shrimp, let alone a diesel engine.

To fill the hole in the ocean diesel subs should make artificial ocean noise.

Once you ping they know where you are. Is is not a solution.

I don't think Harriers can carry ASW torpedoes.

That would depend on who is doing the pinging. If the person doing the pinging is hovering a few dozen feet above the water, there isn't much you can do about it.

The Nautilus is a floating museum just outside the Sub Base in Groton, CT. It's the only (and the original) nuke boat on display, as far as I know.
