A strict separation with the fence seems like the only answer. Turning up the heat militarily enough to get the desired response is not in the political cards right now. It may be in the future once the Europeans have had a belly full of their new Arab population. I don't think it's going to take that long.

The fence will fail in the end as it is a sign of weakness to the terrorists that, as some politicans in Israel have said, would increase attacks and show that Israel is losing. They say the fence needs to be on the Jordanian border and for the whole PLO infrastructure to be destroyed, not allowed to thrive with this fence.
