Why should anyone run against an incumbent Republican, and end up a pariah like Buchanan? Not only was Pat ridiculed, he was labeled a racist, a Jew hater and unbalanced mentally. Before he had the gall to run against Bush I, he was a respected conservative voice. He supported the party, he was not only OK, he was a favorite at the convention, he ran against the chosen one he is now the most dangerous man in American politics.
