He was the "liberal" Big Brother used as an enemy to manufacture the police state. If you've never read the book (1984) you should. Orwells appendage on perversion of the language makes the book worth the read by itself.

There's some good points in there. Unfortunately, this probably won't be allowed to stand. Instead of addressing the issues brought up in the article, people will summarily dismiss it as "hogwash".
If I accidentally swallow a penny, I'm not going to go digging through my crap for a week just to find it, it just isn't worth it.

So this bonehead moron complains, point by point about personal freedoms, personal taxation, personal security, congressional spending sprees, and constitutional erosion and then expects the past, present and future military (which by charter protects us from foreign agression) to correct any and all of his public policy complaints?
Me thinks he needs more kool-aid and a one-way ticket to france.
He has most definately confused our mainland political leaders decisions with our military's readiness to do the dirty work left open by incompetent politicians.

THIS is so seriously twisted -
michael redvero ('rivero' in reality) could have written it.
It *almost* mimics the last post he so brazenly made here on FR before getting banished - a decidedly anti-American, anti U.S., "the US is at fault" rant ...

"to say that after 9/11 - that the current war is a mere distraction from the real problems here at home - exhibits a lack of critical thinking processes."
I have to agree that that the ongoing fight in the middle east is not a distraction..it never was.

And watch the movie too!Just saw the movie for the first time a couple days ago. While nowhere near as effective as the book it was a fairly good adaptation. As always, I'd suggest the book first

If challenged on this article, Brad would claim complete success.
I bet he would say he only wrote it to stimulate thought and to provoke discussion.
And, it has.
If we ignore him, will he go away ??

Good point.. Trolls never just "go away" if FR's experience with them is a good indicator.
Many are here on this thread, bashing dissent.

While I don't agree with our government policies all the time (i'm constantly ranting about them), IMHO this guy is full of crap. Can we send him to france?

Mr. Kimball,
When dealing with the morally barbaric, civility is not necessarily the order of the day. I am reminded of passage in 'Atlas Shrugged' where Hank Reardon hosts a rather elegant party at his house to pamper his wife.
She invites a whole room full of intellectual anti-business types who gripe and complain about Reardon the entire time they drink his booze, and scarf down his chow. Like these buffoons, the parasites at LewRockwell.parasite.org are living off the benefice of others.
There are many reasons why people feel secure enough to invest the colossal sums of money required to build buildings like the WTC. Some of those reasons drive M1 Tanks, some drive submarines, a few fly M-16's or B-2's.
Without those reasons, the WTC would never have been ruined, because no one would have felt safe enough to build anything higher than two stories. Like you, I find my ability to discourse civilly with the likes of Lew Rockwell constrained.
It's like having a face-to-face with Bill Clinton the morning after he's sexually molested your daughter or wife. You measure your words carefully, because that's the only way you get through the encounter w/o chocking the evil SOB.
Now, I'm losing my capacity for civil discourse. There is something about being face to face and belly to belly with unmitigated human depravity that does that to a man.
