"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - John Quincy Adams
Sorry Jim, you can convince the flock of sheep here to vote for Bush. But my vote's going to the Constitution Party.

Aha! Well that explains why he doesn't know diddly squat about the President's efforts to get conservatives in the judiciary.........
(Don't they have TV up there?)

Bush will get the conservative judges he want only if we continue to support the "R"s. We have our work cut out. There will only be compromise if we bicker and fight among ourselves. How badly do you want those judges and are you willing to work for them?

Thanks for this essay, it is much needed.
I do not know why those who are unhappy with President Bush don't just write letters and pour out their logic and wisdom to him. In this day and age you can also write emails, his address is readily available.
Also write your congressperson with how you feel. It does not matter whether they agree with you or not, but the letters might have the power to change things. Venting to fellow freepers won't change anything except getting people upset.
The best way to change something at a time like this is to write the people who have the power to change things. It is much more effective than complaining.
My two cents on the subject.

It's time to close ranks and support the man who has restored honor and dignity to the White House and has made America a safer place. I shudder to think of any other alternative.

With a supermajority it will be over for the Dems I called this congress the "no-excuses congress" because the RP finally got what they have been whining for for about 40 years. WH, HOR, Senate... now they claim they need a filibuster-proof Senate to really get the job done. Funny how the Dems somehow managed to push socialism as far as they have without all the things the RP is asking for. Why not, give them the 60 senators they need and I will look forward to the creative excuses they will come up with for not rolling back govt.

OH, you didn't think Jim Rob's post had any substance? And only 90% of the posts were "attaboys"? Oh, OKAY, you don't like a thread unless it's ruled by people who aren't really conservatives, huh? I thought Jim's post was fine, had good substance. And by my count 35 of the initial 50 posts offered nothing more than a ping to other posters, a generic statement of support, or stale references to Democrats. So perhaps 90% was an overstatement - 70% is more appropriate.
Not exactly penetrating analysis on the part of respondents...hence the reason this thread is short. I'm not supporting or criticizing that fact, I'm just stating what is.

Who cares, throw your vote away and get Kerry elected.
To: Nanodik
It's a totally unnecessary and avoidable risk. I see no reason whatsoever to shunt Bush aside for a Democrat.

Just how long have you lived in America, you Canadian transplant ?
Maybe YOU think that we managed to live through Clinton's two terms, with little to no effects. That is utterly and completely incorrect!
Since you are more used to a SOCIALISTIC government, obviously, you speak out of both sides of your mouth quite easily. This isn't Canada.Neither is there any guarantee that the GOP would keep majorities in both Houses, with a Bush loss. With a Dem president and a complacent Senate, Supreme Court Judgeship nominations ( a VITAL thing to think about ! )are something even YOU should have problems with.
You have rotten political instincts! Jeb will not,CAN NOT, be the GOP's nominee in '08! You don't " get it ", but you can bet the manse ( if you had one ) that the RNC knows this.
You're a Libertarian. GO find a Libertarian site to post to.
To: Tempest
Go away.
It's be nice if for just this once, we could keep a positive thread positive.
Is that too hard for you to understand? Please, that's a rhetorical question. I do NOT want to hear your answer or any other comments out of you.

Well Sir, how about we check and see exactly WHERE this extra NEA money goes.
If this money goes to support exhibits that mock religion and our flag, for example, then Dubya would deserve to be chastised.
Somehow, I think the money will be shifted. Just wait -- when the budget comes out and if it does move money away from the Karen Finley types and other vermin, the libs will scream bloody murder. Then Dubya can claim he raised funding, the 'Rats lose another issue, and the vermin are defunded.
