Alot of people fell for the scare tactics (i.e. a vote for x = a vote for y). Now we have new scare tactics... vote for a bond or we have Armageddon. All of these 'choices' given to the voters in the presence of multi-million dollar marketing campaigns.
I voted for McClintock... it's probably the first time I didn't toe the party line (so to speak). Well... it certainly won't be the last. If I think something is wrong, no matter who is touting it, I will vote against it. The same goes for candidates... I'll be voting for those who I believe represent ME best. When I see the likes of David Dreier out pushing Arnold, bonds, and immigration, I know he is not representing me. If everyone voted this way, we may just see some improvement. And yes, I'm an optimist! :-)

There's a large groundswell waiting to erupt & vote a 3rd party conservative because we have finally seen it will not come from this "Two-Party Cartel".

I lost sooooo much respect for so many Republicans who don't seem to understand how to balance pragmatism and principle. There's a difference between pragmatism and whoredom. So many chose the latter.
