A true news analysis of the Bush administration's war on terror would read: Government safeguards civil liberties while strengthening national defenses. And the GOP complains against 'Left-wing propaganda'. This is GOP propaganda. The Patriot Act is a serious threat to our liberties. Maybe not at this time, but its flaws and abuses will rear it's ugly head further on down the road. No amount of drivel will cause me to meekly accept it.

I cannot believe that the New York Slimes would make stuff up. They really believe in truth in journalism.

Did you see where Ashcroft is saying Bush will use his first veto on any attempt by congress to reform the bill they passed without reading?

"Asscroft is a bible thumping Fascist, and people like that scare the hell out of me."
Scares me too. But not as much as the following:
1. The democratic party
2. The United Nations
3. The Hollywood elite
4. The Professors of our universities
5. The ACLU
6. And NGO
You want to worry about your rights? These are the groups trying to take them away from you. They take away your rights of free speech, your right to practice the religion of your choice, your right to self expression, your right to protect your home and family, your right to a jury of your peers. Shall I go on?
"For ye shall know the truth,
and the truth shall set you free."

No doubt he'll be another of those AG's who serve the second term as well if Bush is re elected. Maybe we'll get lucky and some terrible vegetable oil accident will cause early retirement.

You forgot to lead your post with a
"butthole ALERT", so allow me to repost your fecal matter...
BUTTHOLE ALERT...Sure did. I wonder, if the Patriot Act is so pro-liberty, why was it rushed through Congress without the ability to review it? -- And now that people are starting to look at it more closely, the beads of sweat are appearing on the administrations forehead. -- They know they were wrong, but refuse to admit it, and threaten veto if Congress tries to rein it in. -- Asscroft is a bible thumping Fascist, and people like that scare the hell out of me."

Maybe the current administration isn't abusing the Patriot Act, but just imagine what Hitlery would do with it if she ever got elected!
To: EQAndyBuzz
Your point is well taken, but just think if an administration run by Hillery C. had this power, then all of the 'conservatives' on FR would be screaming bloody murder, and rightfully so.
My point is, I trust no one with the awesome powers the Patriot Act gives. Absolute power corrupts...

You forgot to lead your post with a "butthole ALERT", so allow me to repost your fecal matter... So instead of trying to discuss why you feel the Patriot Act is good for America, you attack my misgivings with vile slurs.
Isn't that a Democrat/Left-wing tactic?
It sure is.
