I have. Maybe you should have read up on the subject a bit more - i.e., the Nato Charter - which allowed for Nato response only if a member nation was attacked. The last I checked, the Balkans were NOT part of Nato. So this action violated the Nato Charter, and was not in the defense of Germany.

And, it made matters worse on the ground, not better.
