Oh Michael, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Your Grandmother sounds like a dynamic lady who accomplished much and left a rich heritage for her children and grandchildren, and for the community to which she gave so generously. She certainly reserved many stars for her crown and has been installed in her rightful place among the Righteous. You will surely miss her a lot even as you rejoice in the wonderful memories she gave you. May God give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. ((((((Michael))))))

Michael, I do not think I have ever thanked you for putting me on your ping list.
This latest ping of yours made me think about how often I take people and their kind acts for granted.
I now thank you.
God bless you and your family. I will be praying for you this evening and thinking about what an amazing woman your grandmother was.....gosh, she must have been something else!
Thank you for needing us.

My Prayers tonight will be with your Grandma, and you.
Let me give you a poem that a good friend of mine wrote for a departed friend of his:
Love Me Enough
I wish I could help you through this time I love you so much my dears But your Lord is waiting just outside To comfort your hurts and tears
Just love me enough, to let me go Dont wish me back here again You see, My Father has called me home And I want to be there, with Him
Ive walked and talked with my Savior Looked full, in His Wonderful Face And Hes taken my pains and dried up my tears And erased my sins, and mistakes
Ive passed through the Gates of Solid Pearl Ive danced in the Streets of Gold Ive seen the place, He prepared for me Where I never will grow old
Ive sung with the Angels of Heaven Beheld my God, on His Throne Worshipped the Lamb of Sacrifice With joy in word and song
Ive walked through the glorious gardens With friends, I have longed to see And filled my empty arms, once more With loved ones, there waiting for me
Its alright to miss me awhile And think of me now and then But love me enough, not to want me To walk through this world again
For I could never be happy With my feet on the soil of earth Now that Ive tasted the glory And the joy of my Heavenly Birth
Its only a pause until we meet again I wait for that glorious day Until then remember Im not gone at all Im only a breath away

Please know that prayers are being sent up for you.
Almost 5 years ago - folks here on FR helped me SO MUCH as I struggled through the death of my last living grandparent - "Granddaddy" - he was 92.
I was so close to all of my grandparents - but he was the last one - and it was so difficult for me. He was a fire chief for 26 years, as well as police chief for 20 - in a small town in Mason, OH - near Cincinnati.
I still miss him very much - but it does get better - I promise.
Although - I still get a little tear in my eye when I hear Amazing Grace played on Bagpipes (bagpipers came and played at Granddaddy's funeral - as is customary for firemen). Also - for several weeks after his death - I would cry whenever I heard a fire siren or saw a police cruiser - thinking of him - when he was a fireman and policeman.
Please forgive me for rambling - I didn't intend to go into all of that - just know that you are not alone - and it WILL get better. Folks here on FR are AWESOME prayer warriors!!!
God Bless you.

"I am standing on the seashore. A ship spreads her sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. I stand watching her until she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says 'She is gone!' Gone where? The lose of sight is in me, not in her. Just at the moment when someone says 'She is gone.' there are others who are watching her coming. Other voices take up the glad shout, 'Here she comes!'
And that is dying."

Prayers for you and your family Michael....... what an accomplished woman your Grandmother was! Rejoice in her life and be thankful for all she taught to you.

Very sorry to hear of your grandmothers passing. Grandparents are truly "grand", as God meant them to be!
I hope these verses from the Bible might help a little:
"When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you...Psalm 34:18.
"For you are my treasured possession...Exodus 19:5.
"Because I love you with an everlasting love...Jeremiah 31:3.
God Bless You!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember how hard it was when my grandparents passed away. Our mind knows that they had a full life, but our heart still hurts. I'll be praying that God gives you much comfort during this time. God Bless you.

What a wonderful woman! My goodness, MH, I re-read your post to read again what a gift she was to not only her family, but to her community. Apparently, she lived a life to emulate.
I pray that very soon your and your family's sorrow will subside, and that only celebration for having had such a fine woman in your lives remains.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.

My prayers to you Michael. We are losing some wonderful women these days. My husband just returned from his grandmother's funeral. It is hard, even when you know that it's time.

mhk -- Speak to your Grandma. Keep her close to you.
I pray that the next few days you will be surrounded by those who loved her and who love you, and that it will sustain you when you return home.

I'm sure that a woman that was so active in her life, that had so many goals, that is at this present time looking down on YOU, does NOT want you to waste time in emotional distress with so much to be done in YOUR life.
I suggest you write her a long letter, then dedicate your next actions to her.
