That is why the prosecutor accepted the testimony of Billy Sol Estes. They didn't want Marshall's family to go on forever with the hurt of the "suicide" ruling. It wasn't to get back at Johnson or anyone else. It was not possible for Marshall to have committed suicide, but yet the suicide ruling stood on the public record for almost 20 years.
