Folks, take a minute and let those in charge know what you think.

"wars, terrorism, unemployment, taxes, etc"

Your "etc" are the children we must do our best to protect and lead. There were millions of children watching the Super Bowl, including the 2 in our home.

Bumping the thread.

There are moral absolutes in this country. But communist, socialist, liberal, democrat... and other assorted ungodly pagans don't want to hear the truth.

I would rather CBS have it's license pulled and MTV be banned from TV forever than to have someone try to do anyway with moral absolutes. And it that means your personal liberties are curtailed... so be it.

Thanks for the info...I tried yesterday to get some direct line numbers, but was not too successful. Shall be using these today, and passing them on.

Complaints to the FCC that don't contain the callsign and channel number of your local CBS broadcast affiliate will probably be shredded.

I hate to rain on your parade, but don't you have more important issues to be concerned about other than posting to this thread?

That we are absolutely moral relativists?

How many times do we have to email CBS about their objectionable programming? The Reagans, now the exposed nipple....it's getting old, emailing CBS all the time about their continual pollution of the airwaves

And while we concentrate on other things that indeed are on the front burner we should let these "little things" go by? No. not at all. These little things have gone by long enough without consequences. Now is the time and it is happening and I for one am glad along with millions of others.

Besides, the other issues you mention ARE being taken care of by the people in charge of those areas. This needs to be taken care of by the people in charge of their areas as well. We have come to this level because NO ONE has been outraged enough before. Now we are outraged and something is being done about this "in your face" garbage.

I don't pay to see this kind of low behaviors so putting it into my home without my choice went over the line and they will pay dearly for it which they have already. I hope the public continues their outrage and that the FCC does their job! I and millions of others DO have a choice.

The ones doing this kind of thing are the same ones who say they want their free choice and that if we don't want to watch something we should turn off the TV. They are right. They say if we don't want to look at porn...dont' buy the magazines. They are right. They say if we don't want to see porn on the computer ... don't download. They are right. HOWEVER, this was forced into my home...I did not choose to turn it on, read it or download it. Understand? This is why we are outraged ... we will NOT be subjected to this kind of thing anymore. It's time it stopped and it will stop after this. It's like because we don't choose to look at this kind of trash they pick a time and place and ram it down people's throats. Well, It is their right to do and live like this if they want. It is OUR RIGHT not to and those who choose not to are being heard loud and clear and it's about time.

i didn't see this idiocy (jackson and timberlake) but i think we can agree that american society has been hurtling into the abyss for well over a decade. the glimpse of a breast isn't necessarily harmful, it's the context that makes it vulgar. the rappers touching their crotches and treating women like ho's(and that's just what the timberlake/jackson incident is all about)and the violence in lyrics and videogames are things that should have been protested years ago. there are no standards anymore.

But who are the points of contact for the "real" pressure points?

If you're really upset, people need to complain to their LOCAL Caddilac dealer, their LOCAL Pepsi distributor, their LOCAL McD's (who pays Timberlake's salary) and the their local Anhouser-Busch distributor.

Those guys, the other sponsors who are going to lose customers in disgust, who have already lost customers for next year's SuperBowl, are the only real pressure points to the NFL. And CBS.

But it ISN'T the breast that have people in fits! It IS the context, the sexual inuendo, the violence, the nasty and dirty smut that MTV and their allies keep pushing on an American public. Every time MTV does a show like this, they HAVE to push the envelope. They feel it is their duty to do something that will SHOCK viewers rather than entertain. They know who their market is -- TEENAGERS.

Television has long been a babysitter for parents who "don't have time" to spend with their kids. I could write a million word rant on that last statement, but I won't. Standards for behavior in society are now focused on "tolerance" and "diversity," and MORALITY gets thrown into the trash. Violent and suggestive music targeted towards CHILDREN and forced upon families at times like these is one of the things contributing to the decay of our society, plain and simple. The advent of the music video and exhibitionists like Madonna have accelerated the decay over the past 20 years. It WILL NOT STOP unless action is taken.

This is what the outrage is all about. We are getting close to the final straw here. Don't you think it is time to end the MTV push into the moral abyss?
