Americas kids are reciting lines from South Park by heart and CBS is going to have a 5 second delay on the Grammy's. LOL!!

Does anyone sense a futility and an inconsistancy here?

Despite my agreeing with the main thrust of your post, there is quite a difference between South Park and the Grammys or the Super Bowl Halftime. When I look at the TV listings, SP is on at 10PM and is rated "M". So if I was going to pick a show to let my kids watch, that wouldn't be one of them. However, the other shows are/were on in Prime Time and were rated for the whole family, so you would have a large number of kids watching.

A bit of a difference.

What is South Park?
Just kidding, since I am aware it is a cable TV show.
My child has never seen it, however.
Network broadcasts or as I call it, free TV, has or used to have, certain rating standards, generally at the PG level.
If they want to broadcast on free TV, they should be forced to keep it that way.
If you, or anyone else want more choices and programs geared to adults and rated R or higher, that is entirely your right to decide, since I dont have to pay for it, you do.
If CBS does not want to abide by FCC guidelines for free TV, they are free to remove themselves from those particular airwaves.
I am also free to completely turn off my TV, but stunts like this are why we have ratings and guidelines in the first place.
I should note that I did not watch this game.I like football, but for the past several years, the commercials and the halftime shows have included more sex and adult inuendo and foul language than I want to explain to my child while watching TV.
My choice of course, but I wish someone would explain to me why this should be so, given that the idea of FCC broadcast standards are supposed to be followed.
