If the current people can not do that, they will find a better person to replace them with.

Hmmmm. Who might that be? Is there a third party guy that is poised to be elected by the voters of this country in November?

How bad does it have to get?

According to you, I guess the answer is to hand everything over to John Kerry or John Edwards. I suppose that is getting pretty bad.....maybe as "bad as it gets".

"They accuse Bush supporters of being duped, not being conservative, having no principles, yada, yada,"

Really, all the posts I have encountered involving these kinda statements have been directed towards those that speak about how unhappy they are with how Bush is approaching the illegals issue, his prescription drug bill, his federalizing of education, etc.

Those people that blindly follow a person, just because that person is of the same party is being led by the nose.

He's railing against Arnold, who has been governor all of two and one-half months!

Yeah? So?

In those mere 2.5mo, he's managed to backtrack on his main campaign promise, and stick a knife in Bush's campaign.

Or have you forgotten about "Motor-voter"?

Every drivers licence he issues to an illegal mexican will instantly morph into a voter reg, which will be added to Kerry's tally on electon day.

I find your selective outrage... curious.

And they won't get fooled again.

Sure they will. And again, and again...

"Who might that be?"

I do not know who they think would be better. I was just making a general statement.

"They're angry. They're right to be angry. And they won't get fooled again

this is the only part he's mistaken about!

I asked you for suggestions, ideas. What I get is your problem with ME.

In politics, the perfect is the enemy of the good. Farah lives in some kind of Utopian dream world. In the real world we just muddle along with better or worse politicians, and GWB is certainly one of the better ones.

I've got news for you. In political advocacy, the mediocre is the enemy of the good. If you advocate "good enough", you'll be damn lucky to even get "almost good enough."

You always demand more than you know you'll get -- because you know you'll... are you seated? You know you'll always get less than you demand.

You demand nothing? Take a wild guess as to what you'll get.

What the hell ever became of the treasured American tradition of holding their feet to the fire?

I guess it got drowned out in all the rah-rah.

Also, politics is the art of the possible. You can't get everything you want, so you have to give in on some issues in order to win on the most important ones.

Well if you don't stop demanding what you want, "your" party will keep drifing further and further away from what you want.

Why?

Because the other party's "base" makes no bones about what they want. They demand it loud and clear. So, their party moves further and further to the left, and our party, only hearing demands from the other party's base, [drumroll], moves further and further to the left too.

And we wonder why they call us the stupid party. Sheesh...

It's not surprising that you missed the point of what I said. I advised the poster of what the mood is around here toward inadvertently helping Democrats. The warning is not mine.....it came from the top.

If your idea of discussing topics is to advocate denying Bush re-election, I fail to see the "resolution" in your madness.

Since when are 40/50/60/70 year olds juveniles?

When they behave like juveniles, wanting everything now and throw a virtual tanturm when they don't get it.

The people I was talking about are not one issue voters.

Well then, what are they? Are they righteous conservatives that want to punish Bush by not re-electing him, despite the fact of getting a horrible alternative?

The single 'issue' I'm concerned with is having a Republican in the White House. I have a number of bones to pick with the one that's in there now, but in the light of everything that's been happening, I am reasonably satisfied with him.

There are no viable alternatives right now and that's the reality of the situation.

As far as wanting George Bush to lose, a lot of these people were mad at him in 2000, and they will be mad at him in 3000; he could shut off the $$$ tap completely after shipping every Mexican to Yucatan C.O.D. and they'd still tell you he doesn't deserve re-election because (insert complaint here).

You're deluding yourself if you refuse to acknowledge the obvious fact that large numbers of previously die-hard pro-Bush "broken glass Republicans" are outraged by his recent antics.

You can continue to shoot from the lip, and play the "politics of personal destruction" game by launching endless personal attacks, insults, and accusations against anyone who is at all critical of Bush, but that's not how you win people back to the fold. That's how you drive even more people away.

Frankly, if I was pressed for an answer as to who was to blame, should Bush lose, I'd say it's in large part due to people like you, who attack, insult, berate, and drive away the unhappy -- but still undecided -- voters.

But hey, your mouth, your choice.

What is this, the Spanish Inquisition?

I'm watching you stalk this thread, passing judgment on various posters' loyalty, even casting them as liars when they assert their loyalty.

What next? Trial by fire? The garotte for infidels?

Maybe you should write a book: "How to Win Friends and Influence Voters -- For Kerry"

That's right....when you can not itelligently discuss a topic resort to name calling. That's always a sure way to win people over to your side.

Here's how it works: If they don't agree with you, the kick 'em in the shin. If they still don't agree with you, punch 'em in the mouth. If they still don't agree with you, toss 'em out the window. They're obviously no damn good malcontents that would probably bitch if you hung 'em with a new rope.

You see, there's no pleasing some people, so why waste your time trying? Just smack 'em around the room for a while, and if they still don't get "educated", piss on 'em, and move on to the next. There's plenty of fish in the sea.

Stalking? Calling others disloyal and liars? Could you cite where that is on this thread?

Seems that the first "passing judgment" came at me; not from me.

You folks see whatever you want to see, don't you? Paranoia strikes deep.

Yeah, you tell 'em, piper! Go sic 'em but good!

You'll show those so-and-so's to question YOU, woncha.

It's simple politics. If someone is having a hard time justifying a vote for your candidate, all ya gotta do is insult 'em, attack 'em, slap 'em around a bit, until they come around.

I wonder how you deal with women?

"Surely you are not implying that support of Bush is akin to the support of the Rapist in Chief?????"

Nope, just pointing out a parallel.

Nope, just pointing out a parallel.

A parallel would suggest a strong similarity.
