Botox boy, just who is playing politics with national security? Not the present administration. Good heavens if this character goes on like this until November, I just don't know what I'll do. What a jerk.

Yes, I agree.

The RATs are delusional. The idea that they are going to gain the WH by being anti-war and pro-UN (read: pro-French) is laughable.

I think about the thousands who came to our support-the troops-rally on the state capitol steps in Des Moines in the run-up to the war, and the 20 or so peace-rioters who chained themselves to the local National Guard camp gates at the same time and got themselves arrested.

That was the 'best' they could muster.

We had Joe Six-pack and practically every one else, while the best they could do was a handful of anarchist teenaged scraggly idiotic criminals.

I realize a national election doesn't play out exactly that way, but the forces I describe are powerful.

This election is about the security of the United States, and no sane person will trust the Democrats with that.

"they were playing politics with our national security"

Geeeeez! These democrats never know when to shut up. Kerry just revealed "they were playing politics with our national security". And .. I believe they still are.

Another perfect example of the "projection" technique.

You don't have to assume .. Tony Snow nuked the "imminent threat" statement. Actually, it was John Rockerfeller who said, "imminent threat", not President Bush.

What President Bush said was, "some have said that we must not wait until the threat is imminent".

I'm going to now hold my breath and wait for Dan Rather, Tom Blokaw and Petah Jennings to do such pointed journalism....maybe not, on second thought - I'd die waiting.

Hmmmm? I don't think so. President Bush usually allows people enough rope to hang themselves.

Brit Hume did a great job. He exposed the NON-story from the AP about Tenant's speech. And Brit emphatically said that President Bush never said, "imminent threat".

I agree .. and I especially like the part where Tenant said when he came into the CIA he had to start rebuilding it. Which proves that Kerry's votes to gut the CIA is exactly what happened. And .. then Tenant says it will take about 5 more years before the CIA is at peak capacity.

I wish someone would ask JFKerry WHO sent "JOE WILSON" of your campaign to Niger to gather intel on "yellowcake"?

Why didn't "JOE WILSON" submit a report to the CIA, but rather sent it to the NYTimes?

>> The Response should be: Kerry is trying to turn victory into defeat, like he did in Vietnam.

Excellent idea: but a major re-education is needed for a vast majority of the American public so they understand what Kerry and Hanoi Jane did.

But that’s not what the Bush White House told the American people. They said Iraq posed a ‘mortal threat,’ an ‘urgent threat,’ an ‘immediate threat,’ a ‘serious threat,’ and, yes, an ‘imminent threat’ to the people of the United States.

I kept wondering about all these false quotes and how Kerry hoped to avoid libel charges.

Then I noticed it: "...the Bush White House..."

This talking point by Kerry is about anyone who worked at the White House under Bush who used any of these words. He's not accusing Bush. He's accusing the staff in such a way as to make people think it was Bush.

One assumes they used Nexus-Lexis to dig all this up. I wonder which members of the staff actually used the words. Kerry will have to substantiate these claims and cite which staffers used which phrases and when.

“Today, the CIA Director, George Tenet, admitted that the intelligence agencies never told the White House that Iraq posed an imminent threat. But that’s not what the Bush White House told the American people. They said Iraq posed a ‘mortal threat,’ an ‘urgent threat,’ an ‘immediate threat,’ a ‘serious threat,’ and, yes, an ‘imminent threat’ to the people of the United States.

Quite funny that Kerry would believe the LIE!!! that Bush said it was an imminent threat. That is not what Bush said. He said we can not wait until it is an imminent threat.

"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option."

President Bush, State of the Union Speech, January 28, 2003
-------------------------

Thank you for posting the above. It is exactly the passage I was about to go hunting for.

Question: Do you think any member of the mainstream press with take the time to look it up or go so far as to put Kerry on notice that this is what President Bush actually said?

Hey, I've found the quote. It doesn't use the word imminent but it is certainly implied:

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
~ Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

No, I do not think they would look it up, nor would they USE it if they happen to find it!
