I love that man...my father will turn 91 in a few short months, God willing.
I can honestly say, I'll mourn Ronnie just as much as Pop come the time. I pray for both of them every day.

Yikes, he's getting up there.
I got to shake his hand about 30 years ago at Chateau DeVille in Framingham, MA.

Dear Sir Ronald Wilson Reagan:
The first vote I ever casted was for you a few months after I turned 18. I was too young to understand conservatism but I liked the it made me feel about the world. I've never turned back.
Thanks for your leadership, warmest regards on your birthday,
Tim

God Bless Ronald Reagan! He was the first Republican I voted for!
although to my everlasting shame, I voted for democrats until 1992, and remained a registered Dem until 1994. I DID NOT vote for Clintoon!

Marty,
Do you have the pic of RR and Nancy on AF1 where he is reading and she is curled up sleeping with her head on his lap? One of my faves! They were so darling together.

Thanks for starting this thread -- just read the freep mail. Pinging everyone from Bush-Cheney '04 ping list. Unlike Kerry, President Reagan loved and supported our military -- all of them!
Happy Birthday President Reagan!

I've told my kids that our whole family will drop everything to attend the RR state funeral. I'm assuming it will be a DC event. Does anyone have any information on the contingency plans to honor RR? Talk about the ultimate Freep! We'll be there!

1937 Eventual United States President Ronald Reagan receives his commission as a second lieutenant on 18 June 1937 where he learned to ride horses with the 14th Cavalry. We shared something very special at Fort Des Moines and I think we were lucky that the horses knew what they were doing! 5 May 1983. The 14th Cavalry leaves Fort Des Moines for Mexican border in 1940.

I don't know what the plans are and I hate to speculate. I do wish his a release from the prison that Alzheimer's has him in. I don't know if he is eligable for Arlington.
Anyone else know? I do know I will cry my eyes out at his passing and funeral procession.
