SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Sean,

lol the source was me on the FR thread. And instead of it being Kermanshah and Qom, it was Kermanshah and Hamadan. Go to the last post on that thread and you will find:

Mansoor Ijaz: Bin Laden in Iran

Fox

Just on Geraldo, Mansoor Ijaz just reported that Osama bin Laden is in Kermanshah, Iran and is calling the shots of the jihadist that are entering Iraq.

Kermanshah

Kermanshah , formerly Bakhtaran, city in western Iran, capital of Kermanshah Province, in the Karkheh River valley. The city is the commercial center for grain and other produce of the countryside. Flour, textiles, refined oil, beet sugar, and carpets are produced here. Founded in the 4th century, Kermanshah has long been an important market center by virtue of its position on the caravan route from Hamadan to Baghdad. East of the city are the cliffs that bear the Behistun inscription, which became the key to deciphering several ancient Middle Eastern writings. Population (1996) 692,986.

KERMANSHAH

The capital of Kermanshahan Province, in an altitude of 1, 630 m above sea level, Kermanshah is 525 km to the southwest of Tehran. It can be reached either by air or via Hamadan (190 km), partly on a highway and partly on a first class national asphalt road.

Being a populous city of 631,199 inhabitants, mainly Kurds, Kermanshah stands, like Hamadan, on the great highway that connected Baghdad and the West with Iranian Plateau. The town’s situation is highly picturesque, and it is one of the liveliest market centers of the province, where you will meet a large number of Kurds and mountain peasants once famous as warriors. These Kurds still speak their own language among themselves and remain faithful to their testamentary traditions: the men wear large turbans on their heads and black dungarees tight at the waist and at the ankles. The women wear trousers and bright-coloured scarves and sometimes brocade bodices, but they are mostly changing into urban type of dress, particularly in towns.

First built on a site a few km from the present town, it probably dates from the 4th century AD. Its vulnerable position has always rendered it liable to incursions, and it was in turn captured by the Arabs in 649 AD, the Buyids in the 10th century, soon after by the Seljuks, and then sacked by Mongols in the early 13th century. After several centuries of relative peace and prosperity, its strategic position on the road to Baghdad brought trouble in the form of very heavy Iraqi missile and bomb attacks during the Iraqi war against Iran.

I watched it and the repeat and taped it! Here is my after report:

Breaking Point: The Terrorists Next Door — Sunday A special you'll only see on Fox News Channel. America's borders with Mexico and Canada in combination with toothless immigration laws are ingredients for another terrorist attack. Linda Vester sits down with local law enforcement, public officials and victims of the killers crossing our borders. See your local TV listings for additional viewing data.

Notes/All Parts of the show:
3,000 refugees come to Canada every MONTH!
Canada has a backlog of 50,000 new immigrants to process, taking at least 18 months!
4500 miles of borders!

National Park Service (USNPS) is training in combat manuevers for the first time ever!

Tom Tancredo Comments:

OBL could get through in Canada today even with a passport that says "Omar the Tentmaker"

For everyone terrorist we catch, 3-5 get through!

Yearly that means anywhere from 2500-8000!

It is IMPERATIVE to have our military at the borders!

The questions on the Canadian application form are all LAUGHABLE

In Arizona, FOP states it is the most 'dangerous' National Park due to illegals that there is!

Not far from Chicago:

Pipe bomb found in parked car
Naperville buildings evacuated

February 22, 2004 — Two apartment buildings in the 1600-block of County Lake Road in Naperville were evacuated after investigators were tipped off about a pipe bomb. State police say an anonymous person called Homeland Security Saturday to say he spotted a pipe bomb in the trunk of a car.
Homeland Security then notified the FBI. The vehicle was tracked down and inside the trunk was a foot long pipe bomb along with a shoebox containing a white powdery substance.

Residents were evacuated while state police secured the vehicle and it was towed away. Investigators say it appears to be an isolated incident.

"This is a very, very serious incident where you have two live explosive devices found on a person's vehicle. We're taking this very seriously at this point. I'd like to also say in no way was this connected to any kind of terrorism or any kind of terrorist act or anything like that. At this point, we're investigating the reasons that this occurred," said Trooper Doug Whitmore, Illinois State Police.

Also Chicago Trib:

Pipe bomb scare leads to nearby evacuations
Published February 22, 2004

NAPERVILLE -- A suspected pipe bomb and a box containing a white powder were discovered in the trunk of a car in Naperville Saturday, forcing the evacuation of two nearby apartment buildings while police investigated.

Officers from the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force later determined the pipe did not have any explosives and the box contained "something close to a flash powder," Illinois State Police Trooper Doug Whitmore said.

No, I didn't see it, as I don't have a TV.

Has anyone else heard more on the ship collusion in the river mouth (? name of river), of a couple days ago?

On the news about 6pm, radio ABC, there was a report that there were 45 ships in the harbor, who cannot get out and that many waiting to come in.

Last I heard the "cause" was under investigation.

No, I don't need a jacket, the tin foil is enough.

Sean looks as if you will have to pay FoxNews for a copy of the transcript for the November 20th At Large with Geraldo transcript unless you are a premium member with them.

That is where you will find where Mansoor Ijaz mentions Osama bin Laden's whereabouts in Kermanshah and the surrounding area.
