"Some type of chemical agent was found in or on the bomb used to blow up the bus"- uh oh.

I believe the chemical agent turned out to be some type of aerosole spray that one of the passengers was carrying in their luggage according to freeper Yonif on another thread. Nothing to be concerned about.

Singer on people smuggling charge

BRUSSELS: The Congolese-born singer Papa Wemba has been charged with people smuggling, said the Belgium authorities. The prosecutor’s office in Brussels said the musician was released on bail after being questioned by a magistrate. He was arrested at his home in the Paris region of France earlier this week and extradited to Belgium.

The 54-year-old is suspected in both countries of using his band as a cover to smuggle hundreds of people from his native Democratic Republic of Congo. Papa Wemba, whose real name is Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba, was given conditional bail by an examining magistrate on Thursday.

A prosecutor’s office spokesperson said the singer had to remain available to both Belgian police and judicial officials for at least a further eight days.

French police began investigations six months ago when 200 Congolese arrived in Paris saying they were Papa Wemba’s musicians. They later vanished.

A similar case occurred in Belgium and further questioning of the people revealed that they had in fact each paid 3,500 euros($4,000) for their passage.

Papa Wemba was imprisoned in France last year after being placed under investigation but was released after three-and-a-half months in detention when he posted bail of 30,000 euros $35,000.

Hello MamaDearest. Thanks for your concern. I watched the local news last night and did not see anything about it, but there were others. I did not see the local news this morning and I have not read the paper yet. I was a good girl this morning and prepared breakfast and dinner prior to sitting down and getting my fix of FR and this thread. I will check our local news paper a little later to see if there is any mention of it.

Why would we capture OBL months earlier and then claim to the media he's been captured months later? OBL would sing like a canary to the Red Cross workers that he's been held for months and the idea that the news was delayed would backfire if used for election purposes. Only if he was brought out dead would that ploy work.

...some type of chemical agent...aerosol spray...

That's the story, anyway.

Although in all these bus bombings, I've never heard of a report like this before. And there must be a variety of aerosol cans on board at any given time.

I understand they might want to keep quiet on terror like this so as not to encourage it.

But maybe the time has come to show the bloody interiors of the exploded buses, at dinner time, on every channel.

You're assuming the Red Cross workers would see him.

Watch "Manchurian Candidate." And that was 40 years ago.

I pray Bush has this orchestrated perfectly. I don't care where OBL is or what's happening to him. I want a convincing display of American justice for 3,000 dead Americans.

Then I want Bush re-elected so my kids don't spend the next four years under the thumb of the democrats.

Quetta = location stated in the Sunday Telegraph article of the surrounding of Osama bin Laden.

Two Bombs Explode in Southwest Pakistan Pakistan Times Monitoring Desk

QUETTA: Two bombs exploded in a residential neighborhood in southwestern Pakistan, but no injuries were reported, a foreign news agency quotes police as saying Saturday.

The explosions occurred late Friday in Quetta, the capital of southwestern Baluchistan province, said Aziz Ullah, a local police official.

Nobody has claimed responsibility for the episode. The motive behind the incident is also not clear.

The news agency says that a bomb exploded near a police station in Quetta on Jan-19. Another blew up under a tractor at a road construction project in Kohlu, 220 miles east of Quetta on Jan-25. Neither blast caused any injuries.

No, I am saying that we captured (past tense) Osama bin Laden in Iran January 20th 2004. The report was about an US SOF operation which was "mission complete'.

The Sunday Telegraph story and the current feeding frenzy going on because of it is about an SOF op to capture OBL in NW Pakistan THAT HAS NOT OCCURED YET.

Nobody in their right mind compromises a US SOF Op on foreign territory before it occurs. Nobody.

See the difference?

NEIN reported upon a mission complete OBL capture.

These other schmucks are reporting a virtual verbatim report that has not occured yet.

Therefore, my opinion is that the Sunday Telegraph story and all the others reporting this are full of crapola, the capture occured a month ago in a completely different country.

NEIN will be updating what we know shortly.

Suffice it to say that the original source has once again reiterated the information in light of the claims by the UK tabloids.

Not only convenient, but it now smacks of official cover-up, and makes the deal with Iran regarding OBL's capture on their territory all the more likely.

Does anyone remember the Iranian press release i cited three weeks ago about Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini's meeting with the Iranians on our behalf, less that a week after the first report of OBL's capture and the immediate denial by the US State department???

If you've forgotten, let me post a quick reminder...and remember, the first public reports and rumors in this specific time period about OBL's capture began on January 22.

The immediate denials by the US State Department began...January 22.

http://www.iribnews.com/Full_en.asp?news_id=197459&n=36

I will quote the key excerpt...

"Right after leaving Iran, Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini on Wednesday (January 28th) informed in detail the US Secretary of State Colin Powell on phone of his Tuesday (January 27th) talks with Iranian officials ... the communique also bears some comments on the stand taken by Iran regarding the current international affairs, saying "Tehran, aware of the international community's concerns regarding issues such as weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), human rights, and terrorism, has announced its full readiness to cooperate with the west in those fields."

Here it is Feb 22 and 135 newpapers and other sources are now reporting about in imminent US SOF snatch and grab mission...AND THERE ISN'T A PEEP OF PROTEST FROM WASHINGTON ABOUT THE COMPROMISE OF A SUPPOSEDLY CLANDESTINE US SOF OPERATION????

Where is that turnip truck I fell off of???

There is no official protest or denial because the OBL snatch and grab operation occured a month ago.

Sean I do wonder why every other country is running with the Sunday Express story except the US. Doing a google search on Quetta the results of the Sunday Express story shows up in many countries but not the US so far. And I have heard nothing of it on any of the cabel news stations.

Quetta again

Twenty rockets hit Sui area

By Azizullah Khan

QUETTA: Roughly 20 rockets hit Balochistan’s Sui area but no casualties were reported, said a Sui Police Station official on Saturday.

He said 12 rockets hit a compression plant in a gas field and the Frontier Corps’ (FC) Bhambhor Rifles headquarters late Friday night. Bhambhor Rifles personnel opened fire, but no casualties were reported.

Eight more rockets hit the Sui area on Saturday night, he said, adding that their target could not be confirmed and a police contingent had been dispatched to investigate.

Earlier, residents in Sui said they heard six explosions and area officials were exaggerating. Reports from Sui stated that the FC had demolished civilian houses in an area allocated for a cantonment and that the local residents had retaliated. Several elders told a press conference that the FC personnel had violated the norms and values of the area and had rendered many residents homeless.

The Balochistan Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution opposing the forming of three new cantonments in Balochistan’s Sui, Kohlu and Gwadar areas. President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, the Balochistan governor and chief minister had said the cantonments would be formed despite the Balochistan Assembly’s opposition.

Meanwhile, reports from Kohlu stated that two rockets were fired on Friday one of which destroyed an FC oil tanker and the other landed close to a district coordination officer’s office. No casualties were reported.

Sean, do you think Iran is already violating the terms of these negotiations? There are news stories today that Iran still hasn't come clean on their nuclear weapons program. And the elections they held a few days ago were a joke.

{{{Seeking to rapidly expand outside the United States}}} the Austin, Texas-based computer manufacture Dell is asking customers if they plan to use their PC to build weapons of mass destruction.

Like anyone buying one of the outsourcer's computers would admit to building WMD's?

I want a convincing display of American justice for 3,000 dead Americans.

Make that 3,000 dead Americans, plus almost daily additions of American and coalition troops in Iraq and Afghanistan who have met the same fate. Whatever happened to "With liberty and JUSTICE for all?" That "ALL" needs to include those who do us harm or threaten to do so. Also, "JUSTICE" needs to be swift and severe.
