Didn't the state have this authority to begin with? I don't recall the Constitution saying the federal government has the authority to schedule state primary races.

Doesn't this make it likely that we'll hold the primary after the party conventions? Not that it matters if we're Republicans, but if I were a Democrat, I'd be pretty annoyed at being taken off the map as far as the Presidential nomination goes.
