Janet Rejects CBS Offer (duh, like we believe this Jackass)
FOX NEWS ^ | Sunday, February 08, 2004 | Roger Friedman

Janet Jackson has decided not to accept the CBS offer to appear on tonight's Grammy show. The network said it would allow her to present a tribute to Luther Vandross if Jackson apologized for her appearance on last Sunday's Super Bowl half-time show.

Jackson, after much thought, decided she'd said she was sorry enough already and declined to be on the show. Patti Labelle will appear in her place.

I am told, she was advised by her brother Michael Jackson "to stop apologizing already."

This time, even I agree with Jackson. What do people want from this woman? Blood?

Justin Timberlake however has decided to go for it. The ‘NSync singer will read some kind of apology to the nation so he can make a cameo on the Grammy show.

Star-studded Pre-grammy Dinner

A top CBS exec acknowledged to me last night at Clive Davis' spectacular pre-Grammy dinner and show that the whole apology compromise was because of CBS and not the Grammys.

"The Grammy people really wanted both of them on the show," he said.

Jackson and Timberlake were both no-shows at Davis' party at the Beverly Hills Hotel even though Jackson's boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, and Timberlake's fellow boy band mate J.C. Chasez made the scene.

So did a dazzling array of stars from Sting and actor Jon Voight to infamous rocker Ike Turner and the beloved Johnny Mathis. Paris Hilton, trying to stick to her record of never saying anything that makes sense, told best-selling novelist Jackie Collins, "I don't read, but when I do read, I read you."

Collins was later seated next to fellow bestseller Danielle Steel and Robin Leach. Now, that was a table!

You have to look at this whole situation from the Jackson family perspective. At least the Jacko pedophile story no longer dominates the news.

I'm still waiting to see if McDonald's plans to keep Timberlake as spokesperson and exemplar of the best in Today's Youth.

Now there's a good one to be giving her advice. Listen to Michael, honey. Ha!

The pressure placed on CBS is working......Janet Jackass was pushed off the show. Dimmerlake is still scheduled. Now is the time to put more pressure on CBS.

Tell CBS-TV that audiences don't like to be used, to be manipulated by depraved career-obsessed entertainers with
CD's to sell, who expose themselves on primetime to hype their sorry careers......and then lie about it.

This is not about "exposing just one breast." It's the co-opting of audiences for personal profit as Jackass and Dimmerlake did.

We are tired of obsessed, success-driven entertainers, so depraved, they would do anything to boost their careers.

If Jackass and Dumberlake thought fornicating a dog at half time would sell CDs, they'd do it in a nanosecond.

If CBS and the rest of the brain-dead Hollywarped types continue to defend Jackass and Dimmerlake's lies, we shall take further action.

At least the Jacko pedophile story no longer dominates the news.

Last night on Saturday Night Live during the news segment, they did a bit about this, talking about Justin Timberlake being saying he didn't know and was furious.

The bit ended with the reporter saying, "So who is surprised at a member of the Jackson family taking advantage of younger white male?"

This is great news! Patti is ever so much more talented than Janet, and a really good person.

Well, I can't argue that she's exceptionally sorry, but she and Michael must use the same plastic surgeons. Facially, they now look so much alike, except he is whiter.

"I don't read, but when I do read, I read you."

Well, one thing good about Paris, she's consistent. (consistently stupid.)

"I'm still waiting to see if McDonald's plans to keep Timberlake as spokesperson and exemplar of the best in Today's Youth."

I sent an email to McD's expressing my outrage that they have Timberlake as a spokesman, and they sent back this:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's to share your concerns with us.

While McDonald's had nothing to do with the planning or execution of the Super Bowl's Half Time activities, there was obviously an inappropriate incident. Everyone involved has said it was an unfortunate mistake, and their apologies are certainly in order. However, we appreciate the time you've taken to contact us and want you to know your comments will be shared with our Marketing Department.

Again, thank you contacting McDonald's."

To them , it was "obviously inappropriate", "an unfortunate mistake" and the apologies were "in order". No action taken, however.

Well, it has been my "mistake" to ever eat there, my "apologies" that I did, and "in order" to make it right, I will never set foot in there again.

He owes Jackson an apology as well.

How about just going away? Is that too much to ask?

My letter:

Dear Sir/Madame:

I am extremely disappointed to learn that Justin Timberlake will be allowed to participate in the Grammy Awards.

Janet Jackson has apologized over and over, and thus requiring both her and Timberlake to apologize again to appear on the Grammys is completely unfair. And in either case, I frankly don't care how much they apologize. They both need to be unconditionally barred from the Grammys.

Please reconsider forcing Timberlake off as well as Jackson. Otherwise, you can rest assured that this viewer will go out of his way to avoid tuning in to CBS.

And in this, I am not alone.
