Didn't Warner just propose a tax increase for Virginia?
Yep. That's a winner.

Yes! It is making us all sick too. Now knowing he may be on Kerry's ticket will make us all in Va. hurl for sure.
grrr what a Freak Show!!!

This is smoke being blown. It's the type of thing candidates do in order to gain favor with a State's voters without being serious. Doesn't cost anything.
There is a story in the Boston Globe today throwing cold water on a Kerry-Edwards ticket. Says Kerry worries Edwards doesn't have enough foreign policy experience. He wouldn't make much of a President if Kerry was absent.
Warner couldn't deliver Virginia, anyhow. If I were Kerry I'd be looking hard at Sen. Bob Graham. Imposing figure on foreign policy, intellegence and,of course, there's Florida.

Dick Morris is still predicting that Kerry will put Hillary on the ticket as VP. Kerry may be a lot of things, but suicidal is not one of them. Can you imagine 2 weeks after becoming president they would be carrying him feet first out of Fort Marcy Park. Well, he isn't going to beat Dubya anyway, but it would take one brave soul to put her a heart beat away from the presidency.

"...Can you imagine 2 weeks after becoming president they would be carrying him feet first out of Fort Marcy Park..."Actually, it would be 2 years plus one day. Then she could run for 2 more terms - 10 years total.
Kerry's history anyway, but Hildabeaste does want to run as VP in '04. That way, she can resign the Senate instead of getting beat by Giulliani in '06, lose gracefully in '04 (not her fault, y'know), and be ready in 2008!..............FRegards

"He'd be a very attractive candidate," said Delegate Brian J. Moran, Alexandria Democrat. "He's from the South, he's young and dynamic. He would have a lot of appeal." HE IS NOT "FROM" THE SOUTH!!!!!
Mark Warner is from Connecticut. And he still acts like it.
He makes the post war carpetbaggers look good.

Warner couldn't deliver Virginia, anyhow. I don't know. There are still days I can't believe he's the governor. He carried my county - not exactly a hot bed of liberalism and he carried it.
I don't think Virginia is an automatic lock for the republicans like it used to be. GW needs to spend money here or he might wind up surprised in November.

Goodbye, Mark.

people are obsessed with VP picks. The yreally dont matter. Not since 1960 has a VP been able to deliver a in-doubt state to the ticket.
If VP's mattered we would have had a President Dukakis

All that you have said is correct. I just want him to take on a real job somewhere where he will not be able to tax the crap out of the citizens of the Commonwealth.

I don't think Virginia is an automatic lock for the republicans like it used to be. Bush took 53% of the vote in 2000. Virginia hasn't gone for a RAT since Johnson in 64, and that was a fluke.
News to me (or at least something I'd forgotten) is that Virginia went for Nixon in 1960. That's with segregationist Harry F. Byrd running as in independent (and he got 15 electoral college votes, but none from Virginia)
I also think that Mark Warner's election was a fluke. Mark Earley was just not the strong impressive candidate we'd seen in his life in the state senate and in his campaign for Attorney General.
Nothing's guaranteed, but I still think Virginia is pretty safe for Bush. The overwhelming majority of the military that live here will not vote for a RAT.

Would the RAT's actually put two "horsefaces" on the same ticcket?? They could add Hitlery and go for the Triple Crown.
...oh wait, wrong end of the horse.
