"He accused our servicemen of committing war crimes. He mad these accusations in a very public forum to attract the most attention---testifying in congress."

He also promoted stories of atrocities committed by other VVAW members who he knew were imposters. Not only were his accusations false, he knew they were false at the time he made them.

I won't call him a liar but it certainly raises some important questions about his military service and wartime activities afterwards.

I will, I'll call him a liar and an opportunist. Check out this story about his wife, Theresa Heinz Kerry, Financier for the Radical Left.

My refusal to call him a liar is not in any way a "pass". If he lied, he lied before Congress and aided the enemy through the disemination of propaganda.

If he told the truth about participating in war crimes personally, he is also unfit for the Presidency.

I have not determined which action would be more reprehensible.

"been there, done that"

Jim: I bled more when they pulled my wisdom teeth and I didn't kill a wounded soldier and then put myself in for a silver star!

>The minute we say opposition to a war is somehow >unpatriotic or disloyal, we risk envolvement in another >war like Vietnam.

I disagree. I don't think that the problem is that he PROTESTED the war, but that he bashed his 'brothers'. I thought when I heard about him speaking to Congress against the war, well, it's not a bad thing for him to speak out! Ii thought the was not good too! Of course all that changed when I read WHAT HE SAID. He wasn't saying, "this war is bad because we are losing troops like crazy and it is too much to ask our men and boys to go and risk thier lives for this cause", but rather "they are animals, they are killing babies and shooting dogs and raping women, blah blah blah". Now I don't know that some awful stuff went on in that jungle, I'm sure not all pretty, but he BETRAYED his 'brothers' who he is now calling on to vote for him. That is the hypocrisy that needs to get out about John Kerry. My father served in that hellhole and he was sooo upset to hear what he said. He had no idea untill the other week when I read it to him. He said, "you mean I was out in that place while he was sitting here calling me a baby killer????" But he only had the networks summary of Kerry and that was that he was a "Vietnam Hero". Good thing I was around to let him know the truth. He is now telling all his buddies about this creep.

So I think we DO need to focus on his Vietnam Era crap. People need to know the truth, beyond the "Vietnam War Hero" garbage the media is spewing.

I've read all of Kerry's post war speeches and belive his words against his fellow soldiers were/are reprehensible; but that doesn't negate the fact that Sampley, the founder of Vets Against Kerry is a scoundrel.

Sampley basically called John McCain a traitor when he was a prisoner of war. IMO, that's reprehensilbe as well.

Yes indeed. We definitely need to find it. Someone told me she is/was supposed to have been a model. If that*s true, there have to be pictures of her on the net. Do you know what her name is? He has such a horse face that I can*t imagine anyone kissing him. There*s just some things a respectable woman won*t do, and he*s one of them. lol...

Is that why the PRO WAR Nixon won 62 percent of the vote in 1972 and the ANTI WAR McGovern got 38 percent of the votes?  We had lost 50 some thousand men and there was no end in site on election day 1972.

I supported Nixon, also but we really need to review some history.  The fact is that by the time of the 1972 election, the fifth columnists had won the propaganda war.  Nixon had promised during his first term he would end America's involvement in Viet Nam hopefully "withdrawing with honor."

When Nixon took office in 1969, America had a standing presence in Viet Nam of over 500,000 troops.  By 1972, the standing presence was down to 50,000.  Even though he had reduced American presence by 90%, democrats still campaigned on the plank that Nixon had not kept his promise.  How do I remember this?  The reduction of forces in Viet Nam combined with the draft lottery kept me out of the military.  My best friend's older brother who returned from Viet Nam talked me out of joining.
