Officials say Frederick County sheriff's deputy, Richard Gast, was accidentally shot last night. Authorities say a gun belonging to another deputy went off accidentally as the officers entered a home in Ladd Court with a warrant. Gast was flown to Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center. He was treated and released this morning. The unidentified deputy who fired his weapon is now on paid administrative leave, pending an internal investigation.

The gun went off "accidentally" when the trigger was pulled?

Doing some dynamic entry action with a finger on the trigger. What a moron.

Hey, another one of those guns that "go off." Man, there must be a lot of defective firearms out there. Or, maybe, just maybe, the other deputy pulled the trigger? Nah?

1. All those who shoot police officers must be prosecuted.

2. Any police officer who shoots someone must not be prosecuted.

THEREFORE: this never happened.

What was the deputy doing with his weapon out of its holster? Today's police officers seem awfully fond of brandishing their firearms as a method of intimidation. The Gestapo always knocked before entering, and were more polite to German citizens than today's "cops" are to ordinary citizens. We have too many laws, and too many officers enforcing them.

I'd like to get on "paid administrative leave." I asked the president of my company (which is me) and he said "maybe if we make some money."
